I posted something very similar yesterday based off of what EF said or whoever said it. Now explain to me why the Kings would trade Kempe? I know they need a top goalie, but Kempe is their best scorer in my opinion. Maybe I wrong. I’m just very curious about this one. To me it made no sense at all from Kings point of view. Not a drama starter, just curious.

Welcome back after your long hiatus.

I'm not trading Adrian Kempe, whether it's for Juuse Saros or not, so you lost me there.

Adding a $3 million #3 LD to Saros just complicates the cap situation, which shows that you're probably over with this roster (even with pro-ration). Taking out Lauzon and Kempe and adding a first-round draft pick seems like a much better idea, but we would still have the cap problem.

Boy, I'm with you there, and I'll bet most serious LA fans would be, too.

Kempe / Spence would be a solid return for Saros. I know it’s been a while since Kempe has played center…wonder if he could slot back there.

Yeah, I’m dumbfounded by this. What was going thru EF’s head when stating that? lol Kings trade Kempe…that’s all I needed to hear…lol

I think what Marek and EF were wondering was at certain points, you have to trade strength for strength. There are different GMs in place now, but it reminded me of when LAK traded Jack Johnson (at the time considered an exciting young d-man) for Jeff Carter and NSH traded Seth Jones for Ryan Johansen.

LAK has a lot of guys who can score, they don't have a lot of guys who can consistently stop the puck. Kempe has always been pretty streaky in his output.

The Laughton idea was piggybacking on another conversation Marek and EF had about Philly wanting young players who were maybe not prospects anymore.

The Lauzon idea was around something I had heard a while back about LAK looking for a toughness/size on the backend.
