Initial Creation Date: Feb. 18, 2024
Published: Feb. 18, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
kampf needs a bigger role and more ice time, let him be our 3rd C . we can either trade for peeke and let him prove himself or trade for lyubu. imo hes very capable but with his cap hit, he is a gamble. bear is less risk and less term but will cost more to get. ( peeke could be had for next to nothing. ) i like robertson and he has shown he can compete and put up points, that being said hes another small talented player. i think the leafs should consider trading him if the return is good & allows us to have a bigger bottom 6 come playoff time.

how much?, i can see the leafs wanting to add him, but do we have the right pieces? we have almost not picks, we have decent prospects but nashville already has a boat load of young talent needing ice time. so maybe the leafs just keep robo on the 3rd line?

Well that’s an easy pass for Anaheim

We don’t want Jarnkrok’s contract and Timmons doesn’t do anything for us

Jarnkrok and Timmins are of no use to us.

Jarnkrok is significantly more valuable than Lyubushkin, like lybushkin has been horrible this year and he's been bad for a couple years since. He's worthless and wouldnt even make the leafs roster.
Speaking of bad defensive players who wouldnt make the roster, why in the world do you want peeke? You know he's only had like 25 good games his entire career right?

We don’t need it

We have plenty of young guys who will play in that role

The dude trading actual assets for terrible defenders because they were good years ago wants to talk about craziness. Good one.
Always wild how no one can ever defend these moves and just brush off facts

Even if they dont nees him the ducks do this in a heartbeat because they can flip jarnkrok for way more than theyd get for lybushkin

Columbus accepts.

I don't think you need to move Jarnkrok, if he's not close to returning he's valuable enough that he's basically an own-rental as a depth utility player, and likely just sits on LTIR until close to the playoffs anyway.

I can't see Lyubushkin half-retained costing more than TImmins and a 4th. He's dead last on the Ducks in xGF%, gives the puck away more than he takes it, and has fewer hits than Frank Vatrano. He's basically there solely to block shots.

The Ducks already have Killorn, Strome and Vatrano as middle six veteran guys. Brock McGinn is terrible, but he's also clogging up the roster. Letting Rico (and Silfverberg) go is necessary to open up roster spots to younger players. Candidate #1 needing a spot will be Cutter Gauthier but there are others.

If nothing else signing a UFA comparable to Jarnkrok is always an option as is getting paid a sweetener to take a less than good contract. Put all that together and all the Ducks need or want for Lyubushkin is a pick. Players and/or contracts is negative value compared to draft capital.

No point doing that for Ottawa, they'd rather have Kastelic, his face-off abilities and his physical traits.

I'd be interested in Jarnkrok
