Team: 2023-24 Philadelphia Flyers
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 15, 2024
Published: Feb. 18, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Accurate/Prorated
LTIR Enabled: Yes
Season Days: 192
Days Remaining: 63
Season Remaining: 33%
Projected Cap Hit Prior To Days Remaining Tooltip : $81,789,048
Trades
1.
PHI
  1. Bertuzzi, Tyler
Additional Details:
Toronto has kicked tires on Risto. Bertuzzi isn’t having a great year and with Toronto’s cap, he won’t be back next year.
TOR
  1. Ristolainen, Rasmus
Additional Details:
50% retained
2.
PHI
  1. Smith, Ty
Additional Details:
In my opinion, Smith is a very under appreciated player. He still a very good player and if Pittsburgh is willing to waive him, they’re willing to trade him. Would be a great replacement for Staal next year.
PIT
  1. Ginning, Adam
Additional Details:
With 1 nhl game at 24, I don’t think he’ll be anything better than a 7th D-man.
3.
PHI
  1. Allen, Jake
  2. Xhekaj, Arber
  3. 2025 2nd round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
Flyers won’t get a 1st round for Walker but this is still good. Xhekaj has been a fringe player for Montreal now, but he could slot in with Philly beautifully. Plays an aggressive, hard-nose Flyers style that Philly fans love. He’d fit perfectly in Philly.

With Hart probably not coming back this season, if the Flyers are still in playoff position by the deadline, they’ll need a goalie with playoff experience. Allen is the best option that’s available in terms of experience, contract, and age.
MTL
  1. Frost, Morgan
  2. Walker, Sean
Additional Details:
Frost seems to be the odd man out these days. Including him makes this trade work if Philly receives at least a 2nd round pick for him.

Don't know if Leafs have kicked tires on Risto. Yeah Bertuzzi IMO wouldn't be back. Risto at 50%? Yeah that's tempting.. But if Risto is worth for the Leafs, why are the Flyers doing the trade?

Ristolainen is a bottom pairing defender and 50% retained doesnt make him valuable since that still means he's over paid x3.
Bertuzzi may not be scoring a lot, but he's driving play and playing defensively like a good top liner, hard no from the leafs

Not bringing Bertuzzi back after this trade means losing at least 50% of Ristos contract off our books.

For the life of me, I can't figure out why the Pens won't bring up Smith.

With Frost in the deal? X has sat for half the season, I’d love to see the Canadiens GM say no to this haha

No he’s absolutely not, any gm would love to have him at $2.55 million. There’s plenty of worse d-man making more than that.

He wasnt sat, he was sent to the AHL to play big minutes.

With your (bad) reasonning that a player is worthless if he doesnt play in the NHL, go ask Seattle if they'll trade you Shane Wright for Frost (and leave Xhekaj alone)....[/quote]

He absolutely is. And just because other bad defenders have as bad or worse contracts doesnt mean paying a guy 2.5 million to be sheltered on your 3rd pair and not even the go to guy on the 3rd pair js a good idea. He's being incredibly carefully used in Philly and is a boat anchor financially

MY bad reasoning? You’re saying no to a second line center for in your words “a big minute AHLer”. Lmao

CH is a small team, it takes big players to defend them, so no Frost, we keep Xhekaj

Savard, Anderson, Dach, Armia, Slafkovsky, Kovacevic, Matheson. All over 6’3 or 220lbs. Gimme another weak excuse.

That shane Wright reference just flew strait over your head, eh.

Maybe stop laughing 2 sec and focus on the argument: being an AHLer only means a player isn't NHL ready yet, not that he is worthless.

Dude you named 7 on a 23 player roster, and only 2 of them will be left in 2 years. We know our pipeline better than you do: Beck, Farrell, Roy, Ylonen, Mesar. All 6' or less.

Since your attitude is so dope, can't wait to hear why MTL should trade for Walker, a future UFA in 3 months.

There’s no reference to get, even Wright has fallen short of expectations. You think Wright is worth more now than the 4th overall pick used to select him? It’s not about being worthless, it’s about who’s worth more and just about ANY gm would would say Frost is worth more than X

There's no argument to have here obviously. Classic case of "the player I want is worth less than the player i'm trying to get rid of"

If Frost is SO good keep him, WE. DO. NOT. WANT. HIM.

7 out of 23 is almost 1/3 of a roster and only 2? Anderson, Matheson, and Dach have at least 3+ years left, Slakofsky isn’t going anywhere. Kovacevic is questionable. I’d say only 2 are almost guaranteed to leave, Savard and Armia, who both still have another year on their contracts. I know your team better than you. And it’s not about Walker, it’s about Frost.

Everybody on your bad idea ACGM.

They say you have an opinion of someone after 5 minutes of meeting them. I got everything I need to put you on my ignore list. Can't say it was a pleasure.

By everyone you mean the bias Montreal fans who apparently don’t even know their own team better than me?
