We've discussed this before, but I think it's a matter of priorities for the Giroux camp. Is being closer to home more important or is being closer to the Stanley Cup more important? Because the Hurricanes as a team are getting very close to the latter, at least IMO.

He has young kids and he’s settled at home for good. Could he leave at the next deadline for 2 months and come back? Possibly but it won’t be this year

Zero chance the hawks let deangelo anywhere near their locker room.

That's the type of offer it would take to get Murphy (without ADA in the deal). But I don't think the Hawks will move him before next year's TDL.

Take Deangelo out of the proposal and I think Chicago accepts, if you leave him in I think Carolina needs to add another 1st round pick to compensate the Hawks for the negative backlash that is sure to come and the eventual buy-out.

Buyout? The contract expires this offseason.

With the Kyle Beach scandal the Hawks cannot afford to keep someone like ADA and his checkered past in their organization, they would be roasted in the public opinion polls. Deangelo would be waived and/or bought out before the ink dried on the trade papers, he would never step foot into the building as a member of the team.

If I were making the calls for OTT this would be a very easy NO.

Yeah probably . I’d want a top 5 prospect imo or someone who can help now.

Giroux is having a great season but a top-5 organizational prospect is pretty huge for somebody on the wrong side of 35 and has an expiring contract... I think you get closer to the return Burns got in his trade to Carolina

I don’t remember what Burns got but Giroux is a 1st line player even now. I don’t want to trade him

Burns (Retained) got a bottom liner, a prospect, and a third and he had 3 years left on his contract. I think a little bit more would be fair considering Giroux is still putting up quite a lot of production so maybe something in the realm of Suzuki, Lemieux, and 2nd or a protected 1st

There’s no way Giroux doesn’t get a 1st + unless he falls off

That's more than enough especially when you factor age in the equation... he got a third + first + prospect last time he was traded and now you get a first+roster player + prospect

Suzuki and Lemieux are worthless . You have to do a lot better than that. Theyre throw ins that the deal would look better without

So Kouvinen (top 10 in scoring in Liiga), Perron, [insert mid level prospect here], TDA, and a First.
