I think the whole reason LAs goalie situation hasn't been awful is because they have 4 guys who can shutdown between Anderson, Doughty, Gavrikov, and Roy. I think they roll with Roy until the end of the season even if it means losing him for nothing.

LA just got back Arvidsson and are 3-0 with him in the lineup after a coaching change and a huge losing streak. Kakko isn't the answer for them.

It makes more sense to go with this. Chychrun and Kakko can be cheap next year , leaving more cap room for a goalie. And you don’t lose Roy or Arvidsson for free. Chychrun can be extended the year after once Gavrikov expires and you can sign a cheaper 3rd pair guy

I can see the Kings doing these trades if they're set to miss the playoffs, but playoff teams don't trade away their best players, regardless of their upcoming contract status.

Arvidsson has been very good since he has returned. The team shown here is significantly worse than the one that they currently have. They would definitely no longer be the best penalty killing team in the league any longer.

Playing Drew Doughty as a shutdown defenseman to Chychrun is a waste of his offense who right now has more goals than he has had since 2017-2018, something about him being paired with Anderson has brought the best out of him and the past few years reflect that, moving these two players away from each other hurts Doughty analytically, which is problematic for a player who leads the NHL with time on ice.

The Kings needing Chychrun ended when they both got Gavrikov to take over the pivotal 2LD role and Spence/Clarke could provide offense like Durzi without his defensive flaws. Although your defensive pairings above would promote more offense, the decline in defense in a loss of Roy would be too much for a team leaning on thin goaltending.

Arvidsson is a known commodity in LA, and would likely take a discount next season to stay in LA where he has rejuvenated his career with Danault.

As for Kakko, I think Kaliyev and a pick or prospect is what I'd offer, LA has plenty of prospects that deserve a chance including ****emo who is 5th in scoring in the AHL with 50% less games played.

As an Oilers fan, I'm so scared if the Kings get an actually goalie. Really thought Korpisalo was your guy, until he crumbled in game 4 last year. Unfortunately it looks like the Oilers and Kings won't meet in round 1 this year frown

that NYR deal is atrocious for LAK, kappo is not worth a 50+ point winger. hes worth a late 2nd or 3rd round pick, hes a bottom 6 player...
