I hate how I can see all 3 of these guys being Canes next season because it's exactly what this organization does

Canes have nothing of interest to the rangers that they can acquire

There’s no way the Canes get Kakko from the rangers

I mean what made you think that Kakko is the type of player the Hurricanes like... is it because

        1. He plays very good defense but can't score
        2. He's a struggling young player on an original six-team or
        3. He's Finnish

It's number one. Every single one of these guys is of that category.

They don’t need defense, they need to play defense lol

And there’s no room for any of your defensemen in the current lineup

All of our RHD would be 2RD on your team. They need defensively-minded forwards... your defensive core isn't great but it's workable

Schneider is good and Trouba is awful. But they’re not getting rid of either of them so there’s no room like I said

Well they actually play defense, they’re fine and goaltending handles the rest

"Well they actually play defense, they’re fine and goaltending handles the rest"- So you are gonna trust that a bottom six of Edström, Goodrow, Rempe, Cuylle, Kakko, and, Brodzinski are going take you to the promise land? You guys don't have good enough depth to go far in the playoffs... sure the top-end talent is impressive but that isn't gonna help when a team is able to eliminate the Panarin line. Your not gonna fair well against the Hurricanes or any defensive-focused team because they are gonna be able to take away your best weapons and force you to rely on depth scoring and you don't have the depth scoring to do that

It’s called injuries and they’ll probably address it at the trade deadline lol regardless they’re still winning games with that bottom 6 and vesey on the top line…their new 3rd line of cuylle-brodzinski-Kakko has been strong too. 20th in xGF/60

I haven’t seen any team eliminate the Panarin line once this year, especially with how good trocheck and Laffy have been as threats too

The playoffs are a crapshoot anyway

If the Rangers are trying to clear cap space for a long-term RW addition, they will move him. Carolina have the assets to make the deal work, and these two teams have an extensive history of trading

"It’s called injuries"- Trust me I've heard of them but none of your guys on the Injury report are coming back anytime soon

"regardless they’re still winning games"- Yes because of the super weak schedule that you've played of late... Like you played a bunch of wild card fodder and bottom feeders with the exception of the Avs

"The playoffs are a crapshoot anyway" - Fair enough but you guys very likely do not have the depth

"I haven’t seen any team eliminate the Panarin line once this year, especially with how good trocheck and Laffy have been as threats too"- The Hurricanes did a good job of limiting Panarin at 5v5 (2.16 xGA/60, and 2.06 GA/60) and that was without Rod Brind'Amour being able to just stick the Staal line on Panarin for the whole game. Staal did a great job on Panarin (1.00 xGA/60 in the approximately 9 minutes of 5v5 ice time in which they were both on the ice). The Hurricanes were able to shut down your top six as a whole pretty well (1.08 xGA/60 in 49 1/2 minutes of action)

Lmao they beat the Avs, Tampa and Calgary who was red hot when they played them, but I guess every team in the league sucks huh?

I guess they did get shut down, but still 1-1 on the season lol the rangers are the most inconsistent team in the league

Kakko isn’t a cap casualty lol goodrow and Trouba are. Kakko will make $2.4m off his QO next year

The Bolts and Flames are not good teams... they are wild card fodder at best. Like the Bolts wouldn't be anywhere close to the wild card race if Kucherov wasn't playing out of his goddamn mind. The flames have been the absolute definition of mediocrity 26-30 and -5 goal differental

The Rags are really inconsistent I will agree with that

Then by your standards there aren’t many good teams in the league and the Panthers last year weren’t a good team cause they were a Wild Card team

Or the Oilers aren’t good because they beat a string of bad teams during their big winning streak

I'm saying that you guys exactly haven't had a murderous row of opponents... I think the next 6 games will say a lot about you guys.

I'm saying that you guys exactly haven't had a murderous row of opponents... I think the next 6 games will say a lot about you guys.

So all season long rangers haven’t played anyone good lmao. They got lucky and played all bad teams so that’s why they’re in 1st….makes sense

Rangers vs top 10 teams: 8-8
Canes vs top 10 teams: 7-8

Kakko isn’t a cap casualty lol goodrow and Trouba are. Kakko will make $2.4m off his QO next year

Issue is Trouba and Goodrow are negative assets. Kakko moving clears money AND Gets the Rangers assets, that is why he's being shopped

Goodrow buyout is the easiest and simplest solution

Can't do that until the summer, and that burns another year of Kreider, Panarin, Zibanejad, Trocheck, Shesterkin... can't keep this core again forever. Once again, that is why Kakko is being shopped. I don't think he should be, but it's more likely than not he is moved before the deadline
