Hell no to all. Maybe a 2nd + prospect if not Tarasenko can go be non-existent in the playoffs elsewhere 👍

Do you really believe they'd give up their top prospect who's worth a lot more than they gave up last year for him?

Or he just tells Ottawa he’s going to New York or free agency, and they take what they can get. Likely a 2nd

Berard and a conditional second is what you’d probably get

I’m a diehard Sens fan and think a 2nd round pick straight up is just fine for Tarasenko. Any Sens fan who thinks he’s worth a top prospect or a first rounder is not being realistic. And BTW I love Tarasenko and would be happy to see him re-sign here in the off-season.

Agreed. Still think a team with no other options would pay a first but we already did that last year and didn’t like the return on our investment. Tank is a good player but he’s definitely not the player he once was. If Ottawa can re-sign it’d be a better move than shipping him for less than a decent return like you mention. Makes the Sens job easier to ice a competitive team next year.

Berard is arguably our best AHL chip right now beside Othmann. They aren’t moving him for a rental.

Oilers off former first round pick Bourgault plus a 4th round pick. Could that work for Tank?

Tarasenko is not the guy you do it for though.

Oilers don't have enough cap space for Tarasenko.

If they want Tarasenko, they'll need to move out somebody else to make room.

Aside from that, I'd accept Bourgault and a 4th, yes.

Ok that’s fine. But please for the love of god don’t make Berard some kind of untouchable. He and Zac jones are probably most likely to be traded, or Sykora. We can’t keep everyone if we have any designs on winning the cup

Berard is definitely on the table but why not use assets to pursue someone like Buchnevich or Vatrano. Young and cost-controlled. I’m also not too much in favor of dealing Othmann, Cuylle, Perreault, or any first rounders but at this stage the team needs to do something.

Which forwards available are better than Tarasenko though? Not many. He's been so good in Ottawa and apparently likes it here... I'd easily give him a 3x5

Rangers paid that price for Tarasenko last year and didn’t like the return on investment. No reason to do it again. Ottawa should extend him if possible

Not true. We will have 1.5-2.4M accrued cap savings at the deadline. So we send some 4th liner down to AHL and we have the space for Tank @ 50%.

I also suspect Ceci gets moved out for one of Carrier or Walker which would save another 1.5M-2M

Only because a team paid a 1st for Tarasenko last year ...

Either way, you were right.

Congratulations.
