As a Hawks fan I'm open to taking on Lee. We need veterans. I'm not scared of the cap hit. I like the 2 years left vs 3. I just don't know what else would be included. He's your captain so I naturally think the NYI would value his services more than the Hawks. To the Hawks he's another veteran. Paying FOR him I personally don't think will happen.

Chicago declines the moment you attempt to retain and include a 3rd team. They can absorb his entire cap hit but it'll cost you more than you've offered.

I think the difference between Lee and Bailey is that Lee is a leader and he is probably more useful, but Lee also has that extra year. Also, Lee's ACTUAL salary is considerably less than his cap hit, which helps in determining what it might cost to move his contract. But, a 3rd would be the bare minimum. I still think its gonna be a 2nd or late 1st. CHI probably doesn't consider this. But they might value his leadership enough to give a discount.
