Yeah pens aren’t taking a cap dump back AND not getting a 1st round pick .
Jake is a top 5 LW . Has been for 5 straight seasons now.
A cap dump, some future 2nds , and a 3rd line center aren’t going to get him

Pens decline.

Start over. Begin with a 1st round pick, Veleno is a decent part of the package as well.

You're getting Veleno who was a first round pick who's young and can play center and wing. You also get Soderblom who is a really good prospect and has played NHL games plus Fabbri who is under 30 and is probably better than anyone in your bottom six right now plus two 2nd round picks. That's a pretty good deal.

Buddy you want a top line LW . One of the best in the entire league .
And you think bottom 6 players and future 2nds are going to be the trade that gets him ??

Veleno and Soderblom are good young players so this isn't a bad offer unless you've never seen them play

Then Detroit can keep them and fabbri since they are so good . And give up something of significant value to get a top 5 LW

lol soderblom isn’t even in the nhl . So yeah I don’t want minor league games

They might but I actually think this is potentially a better deal for the Pens

Don’t get me wrong . I think veleno is a good starting piece . And he would be helpful for the pens . But the deal would need a lot more work . They aren’t trading Jake for quantity. He’s a top 5 LW . So it would have to be high quality coming back

Hey I’m not saying you’re wrong about the potential. But you can’t trade someone of Jake’s caliber for only a bunch of pieces with “potential” . There has to be at least one piece coming back that is a top 6 guarantee. I’m not even saying top line . But Jake is a superstar. You don’t trade a superstar for a bunch of lottery tickets. You take a few lottery tickets and one blue chip piece

Probably the guy making 4 million a year who seems to be always hurt and tops out at 20-30 point player.

You mean the guy who's second on Detroit in xG/60?
He's in a middle-6 role. Of course he's not gonna pile up 80 points lmao. Only knack against him is his injury issues, but that doesn't make him a capdump.

Thanks for your opinion, tho.

He can’t even pile up 40 points lmao . At 4 mil and constantly hurt most teams would consider that a cap dump. Glad he has a good “expected” goal rate though !

Not just a good "expected" goal rate, but also a good "actual" goal rate! Injury hasn't been a big issue this season, either!
Sorry you're not willing to admit you're just flat out wrong, and I appreciate your criticism, as blatantly wrong it may be.

Toodles, now!

lol you crack me up. But it’s okay I see that you, like people on this site, struggle to admit they are wrong and have extreme bias . You can keep the 4 mil dollar 4th liner that is always hurt . Obviously you think that’s a good use of 4 mil in cap space . Most teams would rather use that money on more effective players that aren’t always hurt . But I get things are different when following the yzerplan

Detroit's not giving up that kind of value for a 29 year old goalie lol. Especially not with Lyon playing well.

If Yzerman's strategy hasn't been clear already, he's signing plugs around his core until his kids develop.

Nah you lost me on this one. You had me baited and hooked, but I'm off it now.
1/8 bait.
