If you want a good idea of how much Button values defensive ability, take a look at:

8. ASP
16. Hutson
21. Jiricek
25. Edvinsson
32. Reinbacher

The latter three below the former two is laughable.

When I saw Pellikka at 8 I chuckled.

Unless I'm not aware of Yager's absurd all around ability, there were people literally wanting Danielson to stay in the NHL this year because of how complete he was already.

He's not considered weak defensively but I am sure he isn't as strong as Danielson. Regardless, offensive production, especially increases in production, are the single best indicator of games played in the NHL. I wouldn't trade Yager for Danielson straight up because they play the same position, same league, same WJC team, and Yager outproduces Danielson and showed significant progress in his draft +1 year. I'll take a high risk/high reward player every single time over a safe bet.

Danielson literally played on an offensive dumpster fire of a team until about a month ago lol.

Shockingly, his production has increased since he was traded.

If it weren’t for the CHL/AHL agreement, Danielson would likely have been in Grand Rapids this year.

People talking up Danielson, barely producing a point per game at the CHL level.
He shouldn't have been a top 10 pick. He was drafted on positional need. Their were 4 centers taken above him. The run on centers that year was fast.

Wings pass, this year's first top 10 protected and berggren is fair.
