Leafs aren’t giving you a 3rd and Reeves for nothing. Better to just put Reeves on waivers and send him to the minors with a 200k penalty.

Lindholm would be pretty unlikely. Duchene... Maybe. Depends what kind of contract he is looking for and if he is willing to come to a rebuild and if he has ACTUALLY chilled out, because his old party animal crazy self is not the kind of person they want to bring into the locker room.

How did you manage to re-sign Phillips and completely overlook Vlasic?

I think the draft will also play into the decision, if the Hawks win the draft lottery and select Celebrini then you may already have your top three centre spots spoken for with Bedard, Celebrini and Dickinson. The money would be better spent bringing in a decent winger like Teravainen to support the young centres.

Can't see the Hawks giving a long term UFA deal to anyone this summer. Hawks will try to target a F to improve the top 6 who is willing to take a one or two year deal at an over market AAV, so a guy like Duchene could be a potential target if he's willing to sign a short term deal.

Definitely. The draft will always play a role. But KD has already stated he isn't going after and big free agents. So, I don't see any path to signing Lindholm. The only way I can see CHI considering Duchene is if he is willing to sign something short term.

Most Chicago fans have been saying the same thing for a while now. No sense in wasting draft capital when you can hide almost his entire cap hit in the minors.
