Galchenyuk straight up (if your the one wanting to trade Draisatl)

If I was pursuing for Draisatl tho, would be pretty hard to meet the demand.

I wouldn't trade him either but a galchenyuk for Drai swap heavily favours the habs

Depends on teams, but here's some that I thought:

CAR offers: 2018 1st rd pick, 2019 2nd rd pick, Jeff Skinner and Jake Bean for Leon Draisaitl

COL offers: Tyson Barrie, Matt Duchene, Erik Johnson (retained $2,000,000) for Leon Draisaitl, Mark Fayne and 2018 3rd rd pick

DET offers: 2020 1st rd pick, Tomas Tatar's rights, Petr Mrazek (retained $1,500,000) and Mike Green (retained $1,000,000) for Leon Draisaitl

LA offers: 2018 1st rd pick, 2019 1st rd pick, Jake Muzzin, Alex Iafallo and Marian Gaborik (retained $1,250,000) for Leon Draisaitl and Mark Fayne

MTL offers: 2018 1st rd pick, 2019 1st rd pick, Tomas Plekanec (retained $2,000,000), Nikita Scherbak, Alex Galchenyuk and Brendan Gallagher for Leon Draisaitl, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Iiro Pakarinen

SJ offers: 2018 1st rd pick, 2019 2nd rd pick, 2020 2nd rd pick, Mikkel Boedker and Nikita Jevpalovs for Leon Draisaitl

I'm assuming he will drive his own line but I do think he still rack up 65-70 points he will only get better and stronger. Time will tell

Hard to imagine someone trading for a player expecting 8+million off his entry level contract. Crosby and Mcdavid aside.
Elite players coming off entry level contracts around the league....
Stamkos 5x7.5
Tavares 5x5.5
Toews 5x6.3
Giroux 3x3.75
Duchene 2x3.5
Mackinnon 7x6.3
Bergeron 5x4.75
I could see an offer sheet come in for 8-10 per year because teams want that elite center but a straight up trade for him won't happen. Edmonton would ask too much for teams to pay. At 8.35 million per year it would cost 2 1sts a 2nd and a 3rd. If Edmonton matches then teams could start putting Edmonton in cap hell in a few years.

Until the contract is signed, teams wouldn't make a trade. And one good season and one good playoff doesn't should make a player worth more than 6.5m (though it only takes one GM to overpay).
To me Carolina might one of few teams that has the cap , the need, and the young assets in Dman in a return in a trade that really makes sense. But it the the return to Edmonton would be smaller than shown,
Quake: You mention that Leon is an elite centre. That's debatable, on good season in three, and some of that time was as McDavid's winger. You said mentioned cap hell for the Oilers. Any teams that would Leon 8m to 10 m but themselves in potential cap hell too. And the rules of RFA....over 5 years and the cost is 4 rounders.

If the Caps struggle this year, based on what other fans are posting here, throw in a pick, and you could probably get solid left wing with a few good years left in the tank.
