Happy for Noesen had a break out season at age of 30. But no reason to think this 25 point a season player throughout his career could duplicate it.

change the 2nd to 2024 first in the WSH trade

    better chance OTT resign zeitsev than them trading a 1st + a young G for a 34 YO G

I was expecting you to berate me for something you found unrealistic so I'm surprised you didn't haha. I think Noesen could be a 35-point player and great on both sides of the puck, this signing would be worth it imo.

LOL, Calgary doesn't want or need another NHL goaltender in return far less two! But find a way to work a deal for Markstrom with Chychrum going to Calgary and we can talk. No chance Calgary would take Korpisalo off your hands though.

Have you forgotten that Korpisalo is a $16 million cap dump?

Calgary would buyout Korpisalo as soon as they get him, its just to facilitate the trade.

That isn't free. He's in the trade so Calgary would have to pay for that.

If you look, you'll see that this scenario ends up with $140,000 in cap space.

Thinking of the Chychrun trade. The asset management where a first and two seconds is traded for Chychrun to get that offer back. Hmmmmmm

that is because you have markstrom at 6m, if CGY wants to trade markstrom, pay nothing more than a late 2nd, not worth major asset for the very very few years OTT would have him

Yes, sure, but that leaves Korpisalo and his $4 million still on the team.

Yes, but I find it hard to believe that Chychrun cant net similar of two 2nd previous round type prospects and a 1st. He is on a good contract for another year, still is a top 4 dman and is young to still develop more. It's not like Tanev here.

check out his buyout, it aint than bad for the first 2 years, then it jumps to 1.8 then 2.3 then down to 1.3 the following year, cap hould be close to 100M by them and with Sandy and Stu still locked in their 8m deals, only brady would get a bump on his new deal, they can afford the small hit and keep the assets to replenish the prospect pool

Drop Akey from the Edmonton trade and you'll have a better chance of it being accepted.

I'd rather not have that on the books if at all possible.

Well, if it ends up being a better return then I'm happy. However, I do think Lapierre has the value of a late 1st and Iorio has the value of a 2nd so it checks out.

yes I don't see oilers putting any of their top prospects into a trade unless the player coming back has term.

Actually I think something like that would be palatable to Edmonton, but There would have to be 50% retention on the part of Ottawa in order for Edmonton to make the money work.

The retention is not a problem for Ottawa.
