Why is Bolland in the lineup..? He doesn't play anymore.

As an Islanders fan I am more than ok with this. Does Duclair need a ride to NY? I'll pick him up.

joshelkin .......I think we have plenty of scoring....sometimes you have to say goodbye to some talent to let the others get that ice time to grow ...or some such nonsense

...yeah, but Bolland's got potentially-career-ending injuries.

in general, Halák for Domingue is a seemingly lateral move, and Duclair for Clutterbuck and a bunch of picks doesn't really match in terms of value or need (the Coyotes are trying to move into the "actually winning games" category, hence the trades for Hjalmarsson, Stepan, and Raanta). Dean Lombardi said Team USA had enough scoring and needed more grit and heart, and look where that got him. Considering modern goal-scoring rates, it's hard to justify saying "Team X has enough scoring" without sounding generally foolish.

I'm saying he literally does not play anymore. Not that he isn't a good player, but that he physically is not capable of playing in the NHL anymore because of his ankle injury.

gotcha thanks..... ...I did not know it was that serious....now fixed still not changing my mind on Duclair Halak would be their 1st string and I believe Raanta will find out the defence isn't quite the same anymore

...yeah, but people said the same about Cam Talbot. Then he went and posted a .917 (.921 at even-strength) in 56 GP and a .919 (.927 at even-strength) in 73 GP. And, frankly, the Rangers' defense is probably more of a tire fire than the Oilers'; after McDonagh and Skjei, the rest of the blue line didn't inspire that much confidence. Klefbom, Sekera, and Larsson are at least all competent players.
The Coyotes' defense certainly looks better after the Hjalmarsson trade, anyway, and giving Clendening actual playing time and pairing him with a competent defender like Goligoski or Chychrun should do wonders for his ability to look good at hockey.

yeah, so why is giving up a young player that projects to be an NHL player for many years to come worth one year of a tandem starter? the return disadvantages the Coyotes pretty hard there.

your evaluation is not shared by me....he is much too timid and besides I like my top 6 better without him....don't discount draft picks...they have an integral role in team building and success plus we do not lose Raanta he is still here.....I mean if he is that good trade Halak at the deadline for a bag of used jocks for all that it matters but if Raanta does NOT come as advertised you have a starter and a year to plan your next move ....that is pretty much my thoughts on the situation

thanx for opinion without attitude .... no need to be called a tool just because you disagree with someone

The Coyotes have already stocked enough draft picks. Their organizational depth chart is chock-full of players that were 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-round picks. Now we get to see how these young players pan out.

And, sure, we probably don't see eye-to-eye on Duclair, and I doubt I'm going to convince you otherwise. But at no point did I make an ad hominem attack against you. Where, at any point, did I specifically call you a "tool"? I did not. I made arguments against the idea of trading Duclair for Halák. I never directly called you stupid for coming up with the idea, so don't throw around wild accusations like that without hard evidence.

you read my comment completely wrong.......I thanked you for your opinion WITHOUT using words like tool or anything insulting....I apologize for the clarity....it was NOT intended as an insult but as a compliment....I have been called stupid and other things since I started playing around and I just want to have a good time and maybe disagree sometimes but no stress at all....I apologize that my comment wasn't clear enough
