Trade has to make sense both ways and trading their future top 4 RD prospect for another redundant wing prospect doesn't make sense for the Jackets. Also simply don't understand how you can think that's an even remotely even trade when Reichel is struggling to stay in the NHL in his d+4 season on the worst team in the NHL.

    Jiricek isn’t available.

If he were, his value is Gauthier+, if not ++.

I feel bad for everyone who clicked this post and had to see that Jiricek proposal. Other trades are pretty bad as well.

Why would the Avs pay to downgrade from RyJo to TyJo?

The trade isn't about Jiricek, it's about Reichel. I had written this before he was sent down and was to address all the Reichel for a 7th bs.

Why? 1.5 mil this season and 4mil next in cap space they can work with.

He isn't? Not what all the press is saying about him wanting out of Columbus.

But dumping 3 years of Reaves contract is worth it.

Better use of assets than doing that.

Big difference between “I’m frustrated” and “I want out.”

    Either way, nowhere near enough.

It’s called cap space, something the Avalanche have very little of right now.

I would love to trade Reichel and Megna for Jiricek but that isn’t realistic. Maybe Reichel for Kent Johnson, both players could maybe use a change of scenery.

And the Avs can use those assets far more beneficially. I mean I know you Chicago fans really want RyJo AND want the Avs to give you a pick for the pleasure but we aren't taking TyJo back or giving you a first. I'd much rather the Avs stood pat on RyJo than do this downgrade, plus it's not in the Avs Front office MO.

Trade 1 - CBJ declines. Even if Jiricek wants out, he's worth more than Reichel and Megna. That offer gets easily beat.
    Trade 2 - Reaves costs a 3rd to dump. Blackwell w/o retention is worth a 5th. Why is Toronto swapping a 1st for a 2nd?
Trade 3 - Maybe all three teams do that. Seems like quantity over quality to take Campbell and retain on Eberle for the Hawks and I'm not sure Seattle trades Eberle retained for Broberg and a couple of mid picks.
Trade 6 - Av's decline. The only reason they trade Ryjo is to create cap space to upgrade their 2C. Sending Johnson back defeats that purpose. The value of the pick swap isn't bad but since Av's don't want Johnson, Av's would simply send Ryjo and their '26 2nd for F/C and keep their 1st.

Ladies and gentlemen, The Game Of Telephone in action. A kid being frustrated that he's having to go back to the AHL -> exaggerated reports that he's disgruntled -> fringe speculation he might be up for a trade -> wild nonsense by one or two lazy headcaes about him asking for a trade -> "All the press is saying he wants out."
