Equivalent value player in my opinion. Could look at Fiala as well to the Kings but both of those players were younger. To find an exact trade comp of a fringe playoff team looking to trade a sub-ppg winger with similar contract and age would be damn near impossible.

Player, okay. Scenario, not even close. Player value is but one factor for a comp. And since when is Buch a "sub-PPG player"? That's a rather odd way to describe someone with 191 pts in 195 games the last three seasons.

Actually, you kinda made my point for me with the last sentence. The Blues are not "looking to trade" Buch. At all. And it's almost impossible to comp that (you could do it, but you might need to go back to the 80s and 90s) because it's hard and suuuper expensive to pry those players out. Teams who aren't trying to trade players don't typically take UFA level offers for top line mainstays with a little term at a great AAV.

This is a unique situation. It's a "no, I'm not trading him, but sure, I will let you guys try to top each other in an attempt to bowl me over with an offer I can't refuse" situation. That's the reality.

Blues can just keep him bro
Idc

well you should do that then, because the penguins don't need a rental cap dump and anyone who isn't making homer trades would realize that.

You just can't admit you're wrong claiming that Willander is worth 4 1sts. But it's like arguing with a tree stump at this point.

And the Meier trade is a basis, yes. But not a "guideline" to other trades

You can't really just look at a somewhat similar trade and say that it needs to follow a "structure"

Teams have different needs and goals. SJ was a teardown. That's not what the goal is here in STL.

And under 3 mil is with retention, which to get a quality package we would be more than willing to do.

Want a premium asset? Give up premium assets. If not? Just shut your mouth ya Jabroni

No one said Willander was worth 4 1sts..... I was talking about the trade itself. You are an idiot

Obviously talking about the trade not the player, pretty easy to figure out since that was the topic of discussion.

Lilly isn't getting traded... He's too valuable to the Leafs to trade while still making sense for another team to pursuit
