Without retention, we cannot afford Faulk next season.

If this is a TDL move I think Detroit declines, but if it's an offseason trade then it's plausible. The RHD at the top of Yzerman list is Roy.

Knowing Yzerman, the RHD at the top of his list is somebody nobody expects until the trade happens lol.

I know you have players to resign but Faulk $ basically equals Holl and Kostin next year.

We still need to replace Kostin with a contract. I tried a Faulk trade AGM for next season and it's close but still over the cap. That is trading away Fabbri, Kostin, Holl, or else a buyout.

$27M gets chewed up pretty quickly if they can get 8 year deals on Seider and Raymond, and then sign Kane if he's willing.

Assuming they can't find somebody dumb enough to take Holl outright, they're probably just gonna buy him out and eat $1.1M for four years.

Yeah but Roy fits and he's from Detroit and Yzerman seems to like signing players with ties to the area.

Where am I off? You could also do Kane if don’t do Perron (might be too much) and Foegele here.

Yeah I'm expecting Roy to sign with Detroit.

Definite fit there for team and player.

Roy fits Red Wings timeline too.

They really need a solid defensive Defenseman in their top 4D.

Lose some offense with Ghost but gain some defense with Roy.

Raymond ain't taking only $4M with the way he's played this year, and if Seider isn't gonna sign long term Detroit would be stupid to do any more than three years. You don't really see 4-5 year deals for young core players outside Toronto.

Should be looking to lock both Raymond and Seider up on max term deals if they can. Then you've got Kane at probably $6M - $7M, unless he really wants to play here and play with Debrincat and is feeling generous.

Tampa Bay would be much more likely to make the Scandella trade than the Blais trade.

Scandella could bring a 3rd rounder in, if Lyubushkin got one so can Scandy.

Scandella plays 12 minutes a night. I highly doubt anyone is giving a 3rd for him.

Lyubushkin averaged 17 on a bad Ducks team and now 12 with the Leafs. We’ll just have to wait til Friday to see what Doug cooks.
