Is the KK situation really that bad? I remember a Canes fan or two going as far as to say he deserved some Selke ballots last season.

Guaranteed there’s a trade partner for him, but the return probably wouldn’t be great. He’s young enough that some GM would take a chance on him.

the only forward who hasn't outscored him and played more than 50 games is Jesper Fast. KK has been outscored by grandpa Staal and sophomore Jack Drury. KK is a bum. I cannot believe that I had faith in him.

Don Waddell is an embarrasment

Flames seem interested in reclamation projects. We need another C, could see something being worked out there.

I don't think he would be even claimed off waivers. Canes would have to pay a massive price for getting rid of him

Hindsight it would of worked out well for the Habs…if they hadn’t used the first they got to go out and get Dvorak Confused

Per the Buyout FAQ:

The buyout amount is a function of the players age at the time of the buyout, and are as follows:
1/3 of the remaining contract value, if the player is younger than 26 at the time of the buyout

The Canes can buyout KK for a cap hit that is roughly an ELC at any point up until July 6, 2026.

My thoughts are you have to be crazy to think that the canes owner is going to pay a player for 12 years to not play. It’s more likely he’s serving hotdogs in the stadium for $4.8 million a year then it is that he’s bought out.

I understand how the buyout works and yes, the post is correct. It’s very affordable however, the canes would be way more likely to take on another contract that comes off the books before and find one of the many general managers in the league who thinks projects are the most fun thing in the world.

yeah, this is what I was thinking......they could also buy him out if it truly craters and wouldn't hurt much on their rebuilding team.

Wow he likes his group that has only won the division 2 years in a row and 3 playoff series!

Avs added - won the cup. Panthers added - went to the finals. Vegas circumvented - won the cup. Canes did nothing - never went to the finals.

If you are content with division titles, fine. Me and many Canes fans are not. We will never win the cup with this core.
