I get what you're going for but Batherson at his contract would be real hard to pry out of Ottawa's hands. I mean maybe they can find a way to flip the 1st + some other assets into a different effective 2nd line winger but that's going into a lot more

It would be literally stupid to move Batherson's contract. The guy is uber skilled and has produced 66 pts per 82 overall in the last 3 seasons, and that despite this really bad injury from Dell's cheapshot

Even his defensive struggles were exaggerated. The guy is adequate in the right system and used correctly, which is what Jacques Martin has shown

3 more years at 4.975 AAV is too important to keep.
