Is the new GM trying to miss the playoffs intentionally?

Nashville would never do that. Even if they wanted to make a playoff push next year they won't be spending futures like that on an older player with only 1 year left. Even this deadline Trotz added pieces using very late picks and picked up a 3rd by trading Trenin. He won't be trading one of the better young Center prospects we have and two 2nds for Nelson

I'd rather just re-sign Brannstrom,

Not sure how much Chicago would want to take Pageau's contract.

Got to think Ottawa, Nashville and Montreal decline. Ottawa probably sticks with the D in that situation. Nashville is retooling, which means they may not be ok with losing, but they aren't going to pay futures for veterans on expiring deals. A 5th to use their last retention spot doesn't make sense for Montreal even if they want to move Dvorak, and they're probably hoping to see him healthy instead.

Hawks decline. 2nd to take on Pageau maybe. But don't need LD, so that doesn't get you Raddysh.

Agreed. CHI will take JGP for a 2nd, but we have no use for another LD, so Raddysh for Bolduc is probably a no go. Though, I am sure we could work something out if you want Raddysh.

Habs can hold onto Dvorak to start next season … final year of his deal … maybe trade him at 2025 deadline
