If the Tavares rumors are true!?!?

Description
Tampa Bay has been rumored to be potentially working on a deal with the Islanders for John Tavares. As much as I don't think it'll happen, it is still very possible considering what they are offering. The two big pieces that would be going back to New York are Tyler Johnson and Ondrej Palat. Even though the points that Johnson and Palat put up are the same if not more then Tavares's (I didn't do my research) I still think more would have to be added on Tampa Bay's side to get a deal through. I threw Washingtons 2nd round pick into the deal to help. I think it's a decent deal, because of the fact that the Islanders might lose Tavares for nothing to Free Agency. This also allows them to bring back 2 quality players that can mesh with the rest of the team over the course of the season. I also sent an offersheet to Connor Brown and sent the compensation of TBL's 2nd round pick. Toronto may very well match the offer and take Brown back, but with Kapenen and other young players needing to find a spot on the starting roster, you never know. I have the Lightning's starting roster consisting of 7 defenseman, and 11 forwards. This means that all of their young defensive players get a chance to play, without having to move one of the top four defenseman (or the prospect) to fit them in the line up. They can double shift Kucherov or somebody else on the fourth line and this will add some more offense to an offensively stacked team. Leave a rating and a comment to let me know what you think of the rumors, the trade, and my line combos.

Tavares AND Stamkos? Scary combo. Like the deal, both teams get what they want.

That's probably what'd happen, but can you imagine that line? FILTHY! ?

Are the rumours anything other than Elliot Friedman's 30 thoughts? If there's more, I'd like to hear about them. That's a lot to I've up for Tavares, I think johnson would have to be part of it since he would be useless anyways if Tampa got the 1-2 punch of stamkos and Tavares. Obviously it'll have to be more than johnson, but since he has 7 years on him and Tavares only has 1 year left, I think it's pretty close

I can't see Tavares going to Tampa. The loss of Johnson and Palat would only weaken Tampa even if they did get Tavares. Also, don't think this package would appeal to the Islanders. They would be losing the face of their franchise, and have no one to take that place. If they lose Tavares, the Islanders will likely be rebuilding.

Actually the point totals for the three on an individual basis aren't that much difference. Seems like a good deal for the Isles, and for one year the Lightning.

Here's a scenario. Make the trade. Then JT signs with Isles as UFA next summer. Johnson traded to St Louis for cap reasons next summer.
So in 2018/19, Isles have Palat, Tavares and a nice return for Johnson.
