I would prefer to try and trade for pinto with a package that doesn't include liljegren. Liljegren is better than Dumba now as he can move the puck well and has shown to be able to play top 4 minutes. Plus good chance that liljegren signs for around 3 million saving a bit of cap space. I like like pinto though, a good 2/3 center to help Tavares and our depth. Would like a depth D signing for left side too to play in minors and battle with kokkonen and Rafai in case of injuries for roster spots.

It is very good value for Pinto but I agree. This deal does not help the sens. Sens need to look at hockey trades. They have a lot of really good players and needs to learn to play consistent. To give up and look at trading for mostly futures is not what Staios is looking to do. He wants the teams to make the playoffs next year.

nope! I get the concept and it's not unreasonable on a surface level, but the Sens are simply not gonna move Pinto. right now he looks like a legit 2C that they can sign for dirt cheap, and the Sens centre depth isn't as good as it once was, since Norris is a question mark. Sens would be much better served just looking for other RHD options that might be a better fit anyways, and that they can get without giving up a core piece that they have no desire to move

I'm not trying to be obtuse when I say that I don't think there's a package that the Leafs could reasonably offer that the Sens would accept for Pinto. they have no reason or desire to move him, and there's nothing that the Leafs would be willing to give up that the Sens would be willing to accept. even something including like, Minten or Cowan, they're both "potential 2nd liners who could maybe play a top line role in a few years" guys, and Pinto is that now

There is no way the Sens trade Pinto, without getting better at center, because of the uncertainty of Norris.

I agree I was commenting on why I think Pinto could be nice and what I would prefer if trading for pinto. That being said, sens are look at hockey trades and thus I don't know who we can trade that sens would like to replace pinto. We have our core set and no one of young and equal value for pinto to make it worth the sens. Sens won't want futures.

The only real trade I can see for both Leafs and sens is a package around liljegren and Chychrun. But this trade sens would want liljegren +, and such a trade weakens the Leafs even more on the right side making such a trade not worth it for the Leafs. I don't see any trades between both teams that would actually benefit both sides in the now.

OTT is not going to trade Pinto unless they get a upgrade on him comming back and if the trade Pinto, less than 0% chance leafs have ANY chance of getting, OTT wont trade him within division
