That's an overpay for Entwistle. A 6th definitely gets him. Maybe even a 7th.

Sabres won't be trading Wahlberg. They love his size and skill-level.

It's gonna take more than that to get Cates out of Philly.

What’s he really worth? He had an OK season last year and he’s been hurt a lot this year. The Sabres are buying potential more than they are buying actual production.

My argument against this is what are the chances a 6th or 7th round pick gets you an Entwistle. Is it a favor for the player? I like him as depth, and if he goes for a 6th or 7th, why not sign him to a contract teams wouldn’t claim him for (2AAV) and have him stick around.

Seattle's not trading a player with term for a RFA.

Sure, that's one way to go. I say a 6th or 7th because I don't think the Hawks even qualify him, much less give him a big raise to $2m. If the Hawks want to spend $2m or $3m on a 4th liner, then go get a guy that actually upgrades the lineup. Entwistle is an effort guy, but he's not a long term piece. Rather keep Anderson or give Dach and/or Slaggert ice time next season. Maybe even a guy like Ralston.
