Why do pens fans wanna trade Kessel so badly? You should be happy with him, You absolutely ripped off Toronto when you traded for him (you basically got him for nothing), and he's been one the leading playoff scorer for the past 2 seasons, and already has 2 cups with the pens. You guys should be lucky you have a player of his caliber.

I don't want to trade him; I'm an active proponent of not trading him. I just like to use this site for what it was made for: to have fun and start a conversation.

And to be honest, Ray Shero's tenure as GM spoiled us with blockbuster trades.

One of the reasons Kessel's name keeps popping up is because none of the players like him. Malkin doesn't want him playing on his line and Crosby doesn't want anything to do with him, nor does Mike Sullivan, who's apparently quoted as saying he 'can't stand him'. When the coach, the Captain and a superstar on the team don't like you, you're pretty much doomed on the team. It's not if he'll be traded, more like when. I'm not sure I see it happening this season, but maybe next offseason.

He's great on the powerplay though. Completely opens up the Crosby + Malkin side, and when they overplay it he's wide open. Not many guys in the league can take that kind of attention off of 87 and 71.
