VAN-WPG deal -- thoughts from Jets/Canucks fans?

Created by: alwaysnextyear
Team: 2017-18 Vancouver Canucks
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 20, 2017
Published: Jul. 20, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
If Trouba makes life difficult for Chevy at the negotiating table on an extension, this deal could make sense for both teams.

VAN gets their young #1D to build around, and WPG gets an excellent defensive D to replace him as well as a high 1st round pick next year.

if i was Vancouver I wouldn't take this deal, I think they're going to be a bottom 5 team next year and giving up a (likely) top 5 pick just to swap defensemen wouldn't be a good idea imo

Winnipeg right now is a whole lot better then Vancouver, Why? Would Trouba leave Winnipeg for Vancouver he wants to play close to home near Detroit it was reported over the summer.

If Trouba would do that to Chevy why wouldn't he do the same to Benning?

VAN will probably have a top 5 pick again this year so IMO Tanev+Elite Draft Pick in 2018 > Trouba any day
