Ehlers amp Restocking The Marlies

Created by: Danny99
Team: 2024-25 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 22, 2024
Published: Mar. 22, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Ehlers has been disrespected in Winnipeg and would be able to move up the lineup in Toronto. It's only one year, so if it doesn't work out, no harm.

The Leafs are short of draft picks since Dubas traded them all, so I raided the RFA list to stock the Marlies with players who probably won't get matched, but could still have upside.

I don't think one offersheet like that has happened before let alone 7? Also those are all decent young depth/AHLers for under a mil so why wouldn't every single team match? Unless they go unqualified which i can see that happening to like... 2 of these guys.

Sean Durzi's Qualifying Offer is $2 million, so the Maple Leafs would be the only one of 32 teams in the NHL tendering him that figure inasmuch as he's had three nice seasons in a row and is still only 25. The Coyotes invested a top-40 pick in him, so I don't see them in particular getting outbid for him short of a ridiculous offer.

You're below the QO on Dellandrea and Raddysh, so those are no-goes, too.

Abruzzese would be behind Lundestrom, Groulx (both already in the NHL), Gaucher and Mysak (in the pipeline), not to mention Terrance (unsigned), on Anaheim's depth chart at center, so the Ducks wouldn't invest more than a fifth in him.

Danny, you should read up on restricted free agents. You really think Durzi signs that offer and/or the Coyotes don't match?

As inconsequential as it would be for both teams, I think Ottawa declines.
MacEwen is a decent call up to add a physical element.
Whereas I'm not sure Timmins would get the call ahead of Guenette.

Wow look at all that... stuff... for Ehlers. Thanks, but I don't think the Moose need all those guys.

TB counters Sean Day for a 24 third. Ridiculous to TB
