Canes decline. 0 interest in moving Kotkaniemi, especially to a division rival. Might do a 3rd for Staal though

As with your earlier post, Jesperi Kotkaniemi isn't a cap dump in Carolina's eyes.

Hawks decline. They aren't paying anything for Smith.

Boston is in a position to resign Danton Heinen and keep the picks. Interest in Eller is probably non existent

Boston does not want or need Eller. Waive him…B’s don’t claim him free.

KK isn’t a cap dump to the Canes. Worst case scenario he is Staal’s long term replacement, and the Canes would be more than happy to keep him.

PIT will have to give something up to get CHI to take Smith. Unless CHI gets hit with the injury bug again next season and they desperately need a body, like the Beauvillier trade. But that would be in season, which defeats the purpose of trying to move Smith's contract.

what are the Canes giving PIT to take that Kotkaniemi contract.
No team wants 3rd liners with term, especially where they are over paid on it.
As it stands right now that contract is unmoveable. No one is paying 4.8 mil x 6 years for a guy putting up 25 points on the year. No one.
The homer replies on here are just something else altogether.

The only way Pittsburgh is getting out from Smiths contract is to pay... either buy out or pay a team to take him.
