Ghost is a UFA.

Why would Dubas do that? LOL

Nope. Helleson is a RhD, so we need him; Johansson is a LhD, so we don't need him; and we aren't about to trade Mason McTavish.

I like Raymond but I'd take McTavish over him.

He'll be traded when Satan air conditions Hell.

Not looking forward to facing him for the next decade plus.

Yeah I’m a huge MacT fan. The Ducks have a very very nice young core and upcoming prospects. Ducks, Wings, Sabres, Flyers all have nice young players that could help their teams be forces for many years. Flyers losing Hart is gonna hurt. Ersson has done a solid job, maybe he fills that void. Ducks have Dostal, Wings have Auggie and Cossa, Sabres have Levi and UPL…I like where the NHL is headed.

More young stars the better.

I know this, I was just messing around. Not much else to do on here until the draft. So what’s the plans for Ducks this offseason? RHD I know is a big need…what else? More help on bottom 6? Figure out Zegras situation, if there’s anything to figure out. Just basing it off of all the trade talks this season.

Mason McTavish isn’t going anywhere

Simple as that

Echoing the sentiment, McT in the trade ends any and all discussion right there

I raise one [x1] Brady Cleveland, who has 0 recorded goals since '21-'22. However, his highlight reel starts with two actual fights where he whoops ass.

Trade talks were no substance, sure, some GMs probably called don him since Verbeek has said he probably moves to the wing, but short of giving up an absolute top prospect in the league like Gauthier or other star young player at a position of need, then Zegras doesn't get moved.

Anaheims got a great young core, we'll get a 1RD in the draft, at that point it's just waiting for everyone to develop and gel. Yeah, bottom 6 can use some work, but that can get done through UFA.

I doubt Dubas does that, but it doesn't make a whole lot of sense for Detroit either.

Detroit doesn't need any more LHDs. Especially with the way Edvinsson has been playing he's playing almost 19min a game.

Detroit would be moving Fabbri for cap space and Pettersson cap hit would nullify that space.

Adding the 2nd definitely tips the balance in Detroit's favor, but a 2nd isn't going to help us sign Raymond, Seider and any UFAs Detroit would be targeting.

I agree. Out of curiosity, is Helleson better than Luneau and/or Warren?

Like McTavish, Raymond isn't anywhere.

I think that both Helleson and Luneau are NHL-ready, but Luneau has a higher upside. I'll be happy if Helleson fills the #3RD slot.

I'm heavily suspecting that since several other D-men have skipped Helleson to come up and play on the roster on their off hand that Helleson is a tweener at this point. It's kind of hard to know without watching a lot of gulls games and I don't have the time for that, but what I can say is this.

Anaheim has had 12 different defenseman on the roster throughout this season
Drysdale (traded out)
Fowler
Gudas
Haag
LaCombe
Laggeson (claimed)
Lindstrom (claimed)
Luneau (JR call up)
Lyubushkin (traded out)
Mintyukov
Vaakainen
Zellweger (AHL call up)

We've claimed or called up a fair few guys, if Helleson was going to make the jump, I think he would have. It appears Lindstrom works here, so I think Helleson isn't going to see the Ducks main roster, and I'd use him as trade bait at this point, as there's still a fair few younger D in Anaheims pipeline likely ot leap frog him.

But, he has another year of waivers protection and is only 22, he might still do something.

Warren seems to be suffering some developmental setbacks too, but we'll see how that turns out.

This is my pov. Luneau is bottom 4 RD, but I think needs 1-2 seasons AHL development (Verbeek seemed to disagree and wants him with the Ducks)

Helleson hasn’t budged from the AHL and his stats don’t highlight much. I assume bottom pair RD ceiling, and that he isn’t there yet

Warren is a bit of a wild card. He surprised me big time when he joined us for camp right after being drafted. He’s since quieted down but has some upside as a stable, physical, stay-at-home type (a potential complementary future partner for Zell imo)

I’m in agreement that if available, the Ducks grab Levshunov to lock in a future #1RD to play with Minty
