Realistically, we're just gonna have to continue eating Copp's contract.

I haven't got to watch many games lately. Is Copp at least still effective away from the puck? His two way play was his most attractive asset. He is also pretty good on draws.

Welcome to cap friendly!

I would keep Copp for as long as I can if I was you, just so the buyout wouldn’t have to be so long. Not too bad on the signings, however, Sprong will get more, as he has been a consistent 40 point guy for the last 2 years, with 40 points in 69 games so far this season. Detroit fans will have more insight than me when it comes to the Seider, and Raymond signings, so I’ll leave it up to them!

Have a great one!

I honestly haven’t noticed him a whole lot the last few games, which I guess isn’t a bad thing.

Realistically he’s just not worth the money and it’s even more evident now with Compher there to fill the same role.

Yeah I totally get that. I think he will prove himself valuable when Danielson and Kasper are on the team.

I think we’re more likely to bang our heads because Kasper and Danielson struggle to break the roster because he’s taking a spot haha.

But we’ll see.

He can move to the wing or they can start on the wing. I'm not too worried about it.

Copp literally left his man in front of the net which led to a goal recently. LOL

I agree that buying him out is not realistic and is not going to happen. Also I’m not trying to hate on Copp as I think he is somewhat the gritty two way, pk guy that Steve brought him to be. I just wish buying him out was realistic because I don’t like the thought of paying a guy 5.7 who can’t really play the C2.

I agree that it will be a few years before we can buy him out, probably in a year or two when Danielson is ready. I also agree that it looks like sprong should get more, I thought we were absolutely stealing him this offseason when we got him at 2. However, he has proven to be a major liability and that he really can’t play unless he is on the 4th line or the power play. He has gotten scratched a few games this year because of it, and while I appreciate his 40 points from 12 min a game, I don’t think teams are going to want to spend more than 2 on a guy who they can’t trust to do anything other than shoot the puck really.
