Probably not enough for Ek but he would be the perfect 2nd line center for Detroit and is on a great contract. Throw in another pick or prospect to get it done if possible. I'm sure Minnesota fans have no interest in trading him.

4 million is a lot of money for a guy who's been playing mostly 4th line minutes. Would rather see that money spent elsewhere to be honest. Don't hate the player juat ready to move on from him.

Berggren is a near replacement for cheaper. We need the cap space if we want to do anything to address the God awful RHD.

What these guys said. He's actually a pretty good player, should hit 20 goals this year playing mostly fourth line minutes. Effective player just expendable with our roster. We could utilize that roster spot for a cheaper, more defensive, forward and replace his production with Berggren.

It crossed my mind for a minute but that contract won't work. Too much money and way too much term. If ottawa retained 2 million then sure wings would be interested.
