I think the first is fair, BUF would probably only be dropping 10-15 picks. And Buffalo seriously need someone who can help them finally turn the corner. They don’t need more picks,

Agreed but Buffalo fans won't agree. Most posters around here don't like any trade involving their team unless it's a landslide win for them and they'll still say they need more. The basic attitude is "all my players/picks/prospects are pure gold, all your's are trash"

What's not to like? They could use another center - replacing Mitts as a top 3C. And dropping 15 slots might hurt but if the pick is out of the top 7-9 picks (depending on our thought of this draft class), does it matter that much?

Just curious

I think Kadri is exactly what they need, they have enough young talent. They need someone who knows what it takes, could be very beneficial on and off the ice

But they can afford it right now; they need someone with Kadri's pedigree. Yes he is expensive but he will be off the books when they have to really pay Quinn, Peterka, etc...

His contract runs for the next 5 seasons? Can they really afford him?

I think the answer is yes, if they wanted to. Bridge deals for Quinn and Peterka, plus Skinner coming off the books soon - and even if he re-ups it's no where near his 9M cap hit.
