Boston declines. Mac is untouchable.

There is a trade to be made here but this is not it.

Matheson sucks defensively and Edmonton doesn't need more offense from the back end. No thanks.

I wouldn't move Draisaitl either, him and McDavid are tight. And he's easily the best playoff performer in the world.

If you retain 50% on Nurse and keep adding, maybe.

I don’t believe there is a trade because of trade clauses. Mac turns this down without a second thought.

Nurse has been bad at defense most of his career as well only difference is hes being paid to be a 95 percentile dman #1 dman when hes not.

Habs laugh and hang up the phone.

Mac doesn't have a NMC/NTC, but Pasta does. Still, I'm not trading 6 more years of a premier RD for 1 year of Draisaitl and the risk of him leaving. That is Edmonton's risk that they are going to need to deal with, and I wish them the best of luck. Either sign him or don't, but the Bruins are not trading a core player signed long term for a guy that could just leave.

Bruv said, let me trade you a defenseman overpaid by 5 to 6 million dollars each year for the next 6 year's for a defenseman underpaid by 3 to 4 million with a contract for 2 more years

Look again, i said Mac was untouchable.

There is a trade to be made between the two teams for Drai, it does not involve Mac though.

I just don’t see a deal here between untouchables and trade restrictions unless Drai forces a deal / limits his options.

McAvoy or Pastrnak. No other pieces from Boston would win a Draisaitl sweepstakes if their was one.

Reality:

1st - Boston does not trade either of those pieces straight up for Drai.

2nd - Pasta has an NMC and Mac’s kicks in this offseason. Neither are leaving anyway.

3rd - Drai has 1 year left, does not seem to be very happy there. Also has some trade protection so he can control where he goes somewhat, limiting your options.

The likelihood is low that Boston’s package could not beat, i’m sure it could. But a packsge of Swayman, Carlo, Poitras, 1st is not horrible either, fills a couple of big holes, and it’s out of conference.

But i’m not sure Boston does it either. Makes a huge mess after this year with Drai, Ullmark, Marchy, Frederic and a number of others all needing new deals. They are likely better off holding onto their assets and signing Lindholm. Which is likely their priority.

Swayman just doesn't have as much value to Edmonton as Bruins fans seem to think. They've got Skinner, and goalie acquisition would be a backup or 1B. That's not particularly valuable vis-a-vis a franchise center.

Neither is Carlo, a 1-dimensional #4D.

You have to put up pieces with real value to get a player of Draisaitl's caliber. If Pastrnak and McAvoy are off the table, Boston simply doesn't have what Edmonton would want in return.
