Columbus isn't trading that much for Brady... He isn't his brother

Says who?

This is more value than the Eichel trade... And he's in at least one tier, if not two, above Brady

Eichel had a no trade clause and picked his team. This would be like the Debrincat trade but you gotta add 2 more years of term and the size and physicality aspect to it .

So go even higher

Swap Brindley for a lesser piece and I think we're cooking. I hate the idea of moving Voronkov, but you have to give to get.

No, Eichel didn't... What are you on?

A top 5 pick+Brindley+prospects is way more than the return of Eichel, which is more than the ADB return

Tkachuk is not that valuable... He's closer to an ADB package than an Eichel one

Isn't Eichel to Tkachuk an apples to oranges comparison? Eichel was damaged goods when he was traded and there was no chance of salvaging any relationship with Buffalo at the time of the trade.

That's probably not enough (or not the right kinds of assets) for Ottawa, and too much for the Jackets. DOA concept.

That definitely makes sense but ADB only had 2 years of control left. Brady has 4. ADB is one of the smallest players in the league while Brady is a very good power forward with a lot of size

ADB being small doesn’t mean he’s less valuable. He was a better player than Brady at the time of the trade. He’s probably the closest trade comparable for Brady

Yes and 2 years was risky for a trade too.

Brady has 4 years left.

5th/6th overall + solid young player is not too much of an ask

Brady is way more rare of a player than Debrincat

I think the 5th/6th pick and a solid young player is a fair return. As a CBJ fan said earlier in this thread swapping Brindley for a lesser piece would make it more fair though

Depends what the other piece is . Depends how high you value Brindley . If you value Brindley close to Cutter Gauthier then maybe I get it .

Crouse + 5th overall + 2nd round pick is probably what I would do

And ADB didn't net a top 5 pick or a top prospect, what makes you think Brady will land either?

And before you say: "Hits" and "playoff style player", Brady's played the 5th most amount of games for any active player to have not made the playoffs... The rebuild's been over for 3 years

Buddy Shutup your arguments make no sense. Brady’s skill set is way harder to find than Cat lmao and he has 2 years of extra term. When the heck did that not matter.

You sound hella stupid. Also no one could negotiate an extension with Cat and only 2 years left that brought down his value.

Everyone was shocked he only went for that at the time as well as his 9 mill QO the following year which made him less valuable than he should’ve been

I didn't realize fake tough guy who only goes at smaller player and is a sub PPG guy with an inability to control his emotions was a skill set most teams want... Or even a skill set...

Cat can play with anyone and still produce decently, Brady can't... Another trait the 2 don't share...

Also, his QO vs actual contract doesn't support your case... Stop acting like he's put up more than 85 points in his career

“Cat can play with anyone and still produce”

Which is why he got 66pts last year less than Brady
And on pace for 65pts this year less than Brady

Lmao. Everyone said Debrincat was a Kane Merchant in Chicago and so far I haven’t seen anything in his play to indicate otherwise

2x 40 goal scorer... Playing 2nd line in both years; without Dylan Larkin for a good chunk of the year, meaning he's the guy carrying the ship, with a 36 year old Kane... On a playoff caliber team (You see how Brady was struggling when his team actually had expectation? Yeah, ADB doesn't have that issue)

In Ottawa, playing with Shane Pinto and Drake Batherson (the PP merchant...) at 5v5 and isn't the centre of attention on PP on both teams and yet producing slightly less than Brady... Keep up your argument...

I know u hate Brady buddy couldn’t be more obvious

Cat was the centre of the PP on Ottawa and couldn’t score on half his open nets

Revisionist history I see? It's was Brady and Timmy getting all the looks and look where Ottawa ended up this year?

I don't hate any NHLer, I hate it when fans overhype their own player to be better than they actually are
