Even without Gabriel Landeskog and his $7 million cap hit on the books, the Avalanche will have only $18 million to fund 10 roster slots, including Casey Mittelstadt's new contract, so they won't be taking Ryan Graves off your hands. And it's a mistake to give up on him after only one season, anyway.

Ten of the Canucks under contract for next season are 26 or older, plus free agents like Elias Lindholm, Dakota Joshua, Teddy Blueger, Sam Lafferty and Filip Hronek that they might want to re-sign, so your premise that Vancouver needs veteran leadership seems a little dubious.

Giving away graves would spell the death to the defense.

Ludvig is awful. Playing him is just asking to cough up goals. The same is true wit hPOJ.
I don't know what your fascination with him is but he sucks and sure as hell is not a 1LD.
He's not even a 3rd pairing.

While Carrier is decent, he's not the shut down defenseman they need out of a 3RD since both Letang and EK are incompetent in their own zone.

But hey what else to expect out of someone who puts DOC on the 4th line.

Boston Declines
Graves NTC Declines
Pens Decline VAN. I don't see them retaining on Smith just to move him. (specially not for just a 4th).

That Defense is atrocious and Jake isn't coming back.

Also DOC having a vastly better season than Puustinen so idk why he'd be back on the 4th line.

Nedeljkovic's going to only want 2M for 3 years? after playing a 1b role.

Hint: in Detroit expecting to play that same role he got 3M x 2 yrs (and the salary cap is set to go up from what it was then).
