I think that this is a little risky, just because his offensive production isn't exactly stellar.....that being said, he does seem to at least contribute to play pretty well, and 4.25 million seems like a reasonable risk to take for a winger that plays well with your #1 center. Over the long haul, it will likely prove to be a great deal.

I should have added the caveat of "outside of this year". There isn't much sample size to draw from, and his playoff performance was quiet for long stretches of time.
