I may be wrong but I think Lehner is part of the Varlamov trade.

Why on earth would Buffalo do that trade?

We wouldn't trade a young, cheaper goalie coming off a good season for an older, more expensive one who's been pretty mediocre for a while now

A defenseman prospect who hasn't worked out & a 3rd are not enough of a sweetener to do something like that

Maybe if Barrie was involved,
then we'd take Varlamov off your hands...
Like we did with Pominville so we could get Scandella at a cheaper price

And we certainly wouldn't throw in one of our top forward prospects... many of us see Baptiste eventually playing the wing on Eichel's line


As far as your other trades go... they're probably close

Barrie for RNH seems reasonable
As does Duchene for Hanifin

2.86 GAA / .920 is considered good? Not saying that Varly is a whole lot better, but he did play for the worst team in the NHL lol. Lehner is ok, but he's not a guy that will take BUF very far.
