That a bit more reasonable, but i still see issues with it happening in real life

Idk that we’d even want Faulk?
Not only is he a bit old, he has a big Cap Hit & we have to pay Quinn, Peterka & Byram after next year. Idk that we are looking to bring in another big Cap #
If we wanted to throw $6.5mil at someone, it would make more sense to go after a UFA like Pesce, Roy, etc etc
Plus, Faulk isn’t really the type defenseman we need
We’re looking for more of a physical “shut down” type

Also, Krebs is currently slated to be our 3C for us
So I’d we moved him, it would be a joke we’d have to fill

It’s tough for me to see how a trade with StL works out tbh

Alright that’s fair! I’d just love to pry a young prospect from Buf consider they have so so many, I think we can get one for a little cheaper then most teams since they can’t play them all

Krebs is gonna get first shot at 3C for us this year
But if Kulich or Savoie pass him, then he may become available
I just don’t see that happening yet though
Maybe by mid-season?

-the pens trade is interesting and hayes would be a fallback option at the least. not sure they would want him but he would certainly be an upgrade in the bottom 6 group. the only thing is, he wouldnt be the first option that they would look at. as for you guys taking back acciari, i dont really know how to evaluate him because he was completely neutered by being forced to play center. the edge and the bite we were sold on getting from him was completely non-existent and im convinced its because he played center opposed to wing. i think the pens get the better player in that deal for sure but the fit for hayes is iffy.

Cookie played every game for the Blues at center. He was pretty awesome.

I just don't believe Buffalo wants Faulk. But if they actually did, I'd want Jokiharju back.

well then his linemates just werent good enough or he just never fit the system because he had like maybe 1 or 2 shifts a game where they could establish pressure and otherwise he was either invisible or getting caved in at the defensive zone. either way, i had goods hopes for him and he just didnt pan out. harkins was an offensive blackhole and nieto wasnt much better. old man carts was really his best option but i dont remember them playing much together earlier in the season, nor did carts really step up until like the last 25 games of the season.

Sometimes, the fit doesn't meld. Sometimes it takes until the second season. I dunno what the issue was there, but I'd happily trade Hayes for him.

Trust me, we don’t. And we definitely don’t want to trade the less expensive, younger version of the same player to you to get him.

Yeah, that's what I said. And for what it's worth I'm also highly skeptical when people say they want Buch.

I think that’s a little more feasible, but only if there’s an extension in play. Would still be a rather surprising trade considering what they would have to give up to make it happen, and the salary cap mambo that would follow.

penguins are not taking your 7 mil cap dump.
You are high as a kite if you think the penguins find that "interesting"

well if you were paying attention you would know the flyers have half of his cap retained so PIT would take hayes at 3.5 mil.

OH clearly taking on a 3.5 mil 4th liner is sooo much in their interest.....

NO.

You are stuck with that mess. Don't even bother.

You got nothing to add to make the penguins want to take that off your hands.

If you want Acciari we are more than happy to send him to you for a low round pick.
If not we'll keep him as 4C he's a very low cap hit and a good PKer.

i was obligated to watch the pens godforsaken bottom 6 last year much like you were, dont pretend hayes wouldnt be an upgrade on the 3rd line. id rather have other guys on the market (like warren foegele but thats a different story). there are other options via trade. i also never said he was the best option, or even their 3rd or 4th option. i said he was an option, and thats it. besides, STL can always retain salary to get the number down further. cookie didnt fit. its fine. reilly didnt fit. graves didnt fit. some guys just dont fit. roll the dice on someone else, or put him on the wing. but dont bring him back at 4c.
