Philadelphia has zero interest in getting Tavares. The majority of our cap will be spend on our 5-6 prospect defensemen (Provorov-Ghost-Morin-Myers-Sanheim-Hagg). Wayne Simmonds is going to be receiving a pay raise, and we have to be sure to be able to pay Carter Hart/Felix Sanstrom, Nolan Patrick and Oskar Lindblom.

Practically all Flyers ELC are coming off in 1-2 years, which by signing Tavares, would screw the team with cap

But wouldn't is also make sense for the Flyers to sign Tavares and then trade Giroux?

Not IMO, any trade involving Giroux would require salary coming back, and Tavares will get more than G

BREAKING NEWS, this just in! ALL 31 NHL teams announce that they need and would like more scoring. what a shocker!

More SHOCKING NEWS! About 3/4 of the league needs a top 4 defenseman

This is a joke right? Canucks??? Flyers??? What the hell are you saying?!?!!!?

i was thinking more because of how bad they are on forward for the NHL level. They need a 1st line centre. Without one, they won't be very good.

Have you seen NYI's offense???

yeah, but it's better than MTL's.

Where would you slot Tavares on the Flyer's roster in 2018-2019, barring no significant trades are made? @RAIF

okay, you're right ... Courturier could be the 4th centre, i don't see a problem with that. or someone could be moved to the wing.

Maybe it's just me, but I think that you could sell Giroux below market value to another team who lost out on Tavares, pay Tavares 10-10.5m, and still come out ahead.

The only scenario I have is Giroux to the wing, but I don't like that unless he cannot win a face-off to save his life.

Couturier on the 4c is terrible. he is a 2/3c, but a damn great 3c. Patrick cannot play the wing

Just because he's there right now doesn't make it the best option for him.

Kyrie Irving (NBA) has been with Cleveland for 6 years, is a high caliber athlete, and has proven to belong there, but has recently requested a trade

Let's put it this way -- if you were a superstar on a team that had a horrible arena, a team that let a ton of good players walk (including your wingman), a team that seems destined to hover around mediocrity for a while, would you want to leave? Yes you would.
