Next year is clearly our year

Description
Getting Kampf off the payroll seems like an obvious move. Minten, Holmberg, and Dewar can all replace his role while making less money combined.

If Matt Roy isn't #1 on the Leafs' list for things to do this off-season, then I'm not sure what to expect anymore from GM Treliving.

I think Bertuzzi is definitely underpaid a bit, but after his season, this isn't too unreasonable. It's also pretty evident that he wants to play in Toronto and would maybe take a bit less to do so.

Lastly, I would like to say that Leafs fans should not overreact to the outcome of this playoff series (and game 1). We objectively have the worst goaltending/defence of any team in the playoffs. Even making it to the 2nd round would be a miracle with our roster. Not to mention, if Nylander is out for the series, we are done. There's no reason to be calling for the classic "fire Keefe" or "trade Marner" in reaction to the results of the next few games (unless you hated them before, lol).

It should also be reassuring that our team, assuming Treliving doesn't completely **** up, will likely be the best it has been since the start of the Matthews era next season.

Dewar would probably take Mintins spot, give him a year in the minors.

Cowan could probably be replaced with Robertson, and give Cowan a year in the minors

See how Hildiby and Artur (not gonna try to spell the last name) do in the minors as well, maybe give them a couple reps. But as a stop gap, a lot of people have been using Solartz. Makes sense to be with that one, but if the leafs have to save money, could do one of Wedgewood, or Lankinen.

Also with the Conner Murphy one, leafs probably just sign an RHD.

Also might have to add to Kampf to get rid of his deal

Leafs can pickup a good defensive d man in the offseason, but to answer your question, probably a 2nd plus Robertson

Without retention, probably add a 2nd. But TOR doesn't own any 2nd round picks. So probably add a 1st and then CHI adds a late 2nd, a 3rd, or maybe a cap dump. OR you could just add 50% retention and then add a 1st straight up. Retention makes more sense for TOR anyway, especially with the 2nd year on Murphy's contract and Marner needing a new deal after next season.

I can't see the Hawks having that much interest in Robertson, so add a 1st to get Murphy. Robertson isn't going to play on Bedard's line. Last thing the Bedsy needs on his line is a guy who's SMALLER than him on a wing.
