nah dubas is stuck with that terrible jarry contract lmaoooo

leafs will probably fleece his inexperienced, pre-pubescent self and return a 2nd + 3rd for nick robertson. dubas has made one (1) good trade in his career, and that was for Jake McCabe. everything else he has touched has turned to complete ****, have fun with your garbage franchise for the next 15 years tears of joy

quite possibly the worst GM to ever sit in an NHL front office, enjoy

Wahhh wahhh wahhh. Leafs’ Justin Bieber loving star players don’t know how to play big boy hockey or show up in the playoffs so let’s blame the GM that consistently put together playoff qualifying teams wahhh wahhh wahhh. Stars won’t produce? Let’s blame the GM! In fact, the old GM!

Utah declines this pretty easily. I love Guentzel, but I really don’t see him making more than 9-9.5 if he signs a 6 year deal.

kyle dubas rolled out alex kerfoot on L2 for 3 straight years in the playoffs, along with pierre engvall as a mainstay on the 3rd line...

kyle dubas let mccann walk for nothing

kyle dubas traded the king's leading goal scorer (Moore) for an AHL backup (campbell) and an AHL enforcer (clifford)

kyle dubas traded marchment for DENIS MALGIN.

kyle dubas traded down, passed on konecny, for TRAVIS DERMOTT and JEREMY BRACCO

kyle dubas did not draft a single capable defenceman during his entire tenure with the leafs

kyle dubas traded for matt murray and genuinely believed he was the answer

kyle dubas traded countless 1st/2nd round picks for rentals that had no tangible effect on the team (depth scoring in playoffs was nonexistent during his entire time in toronto)

kyle dubas inherited one of the most talented rosters in the league and consistently failed to put the team in a position to succeed. drafting wise, deadline acquisition wise, personnel wise... brutal across the board.

i hope you're ready for the most painful hockey viewing experience in your life, having Dubas as your GM. get ready for a soft, spineless, pathetic display of hockey. such a shame that Sid has to finish off his career like that. guy deserves better

what'd i miss?

It doesn’t make sense for Leafs to give up assets before FA; I think they try to address their needs (& bottom 6 forwards is not one of them so Acciari stay put) that way. Also, Leafs cap structure doesn’t really allow for a goalie making $5.375M

Is Guentzel a franchise player....no
Is Guentzel worth that kind of money... no
That's that.
Someone else can sign him if that's the expectation. He's a good player, but he's just not a franchise guy. I wouldn't give him more than 6x8-8.5
Someone else wants to, that's on them.

no way i'm defending Dubas because I don't think he's a good GM either.
But where you cross the line is trying to blame your current issues on him.
Dubas didn't make the bone headed decision to play Reaves in playoff games.
Dubas didn't make the bright idea of bringing in hot head Domi so the RAT could get under his skin before the puck even dropped and bait him into causing penalties.
There are a lot of things wrong with TOR right now. None of them has anything to do with Dubas.
The biggest issue for TOR right now is their failure to find a decent sports psychologist who can help them with their "got to be tough" "we need a fighter" "our manhood is on the line" mentality.
BOS just plays you ever year. BOS could have squeaked into the playoffs with a team as bad as WSH and still beaten TOR. Because they live rent free in your head.
