Sens decline

Sens gave up a 1st and 2 2nds for Chychrun at the 2023 deadline. That was with 2 more years at an extremely team friendly deal left. I don't think the price is far off but a 1st + a 3rd is a decent starting place for a Chychrun trade this offseason.

What does a realistic Chychrun package look like?

Switch Lauko for someone like Geekie

I doubt the Bruins give Geekie, another year on a sweetheart of a deal for the Bruins.

No real need to especially if you add that Chychrun is coming off a poor season

He had 6 less points than McAvoy. Defensively you could say his -30 is pretty bad but when you consider the poor team defence and the “goaltending” the senators got this year you can’t really blame the guy for most of it haha

Judging McAvoy by points alone rather than complete play. All I’m suggesting is that the standard comp is a first and a third for an expiring contract.

Likely is something along those lines or it will be a “hockey trade” for a player with term (RHD or winger)

Or goalie if Ullmark is willing to waive with an extension.

Something like Ullmark and Ian Mitchell for Chychrun and Forsberg.

I don't see the Bruins taking Forsberg back at that cap hit unless they have a plan to move Bussi in another trade and think they can't sign Lindholm or another impact dman.

He only has 1 year left if Ottawa retained half you’d have a safety net for your rookie goaltender incase of injury. However I think you could remove Forsberg and still make the trade centred around Chych and Ullmark *if he waives lol

I should have clarified that point. I would assume retention on Forsberg and that he would be buried in Providence most likely



I could see him waiving with an extension. Staying in Boston next year increases the potential from being separated from his kids and then having to move the following year.
