*I know Oilers fans sometimes don’t understand simple things like jokes or how to make a good team so I will point out that the EDM trade is a joke.

Trades
1.
WPG
  1. Holmström, Simon [RFA Rights]
  2. Pulock, Ryan
Additional Details:
We need a Top-2 defensemen that is capable of playing with Morrissey, this bumps Demelo to the 2nd and Puonk to the third, creating even more depth in our top 6. Holmström is a player needing a change of scenery, and his defensive play is something our bottom-6 can use and help him develop.
NYI
  1. Ehlers, Nikolaj
Additional Details:
I like Ehlers but he hasn’t evaluated his game, even though he played the whole season, a change of scenery is worth looking at for him and he can excel as Barzel’s winger, which is something they need and can pick up the slack in there already stacked D-core.
2.
WPG
  1. 2024 6th round pick (CHI)
Additional Details:
We move down a couple picks but clear off 6 Million in the process.
CHI
  1. Schmidt, Nate
  2. 2024 5th round pick (WPG)
Additional Details:
Even if he is a 7th D, Schmidt brings an amazing presence to the room and can be a great mentor for guys like Bedard and Korchinski. Can easily be flipped 50% at the deadline for a profit or you could even see the guy sign back, don’t wanna do this but the contract is just too much for us, if we have to pay a little it’s worth it to improve the team.
3.
WPG
  1. 2025 3rd round pick (BUF)
Additional Details:
-Signing Rights To Zemgus Girgensons

Ideally for Buffalo, 2025 features a lower pick and also benefits Winnipeg by spreading out our draft capital. Zemgus would be a great leader for the group and is a physical presence on the 4th.
BUF
  1. Iafallo, Alex
Additional Details:
Buffalo fans seem to want a trade for Iafallo and I will miss him, I liked his play, he was committed and didn’t give up the play but he just needs to work on his balance, and he isn’t worth 4 Million that we could use elsewhere.
4.
WPG
  1. 2025 4th round pick (DAL)
Additional Details:
Let Chevy work his magic.
SEA
  1. Kupari, Rasmus
Additional Details:
Kupari needs a change of scenery, 0 goals this year, Seattle could use him as a bottom-6 guy that will fit in with there timeline for contention.
5.
WPG
    Connor McDavid
    EDM
    1. Nikulin, Ilya [Reserve List]
    Additional Details:
The Edmonton Oilers make a steal of a trade, Ilya is the next big thing of hockey and is projected to break Gretzky’s records within the first half of the season, sad thing is he won’t sign with Winnipeg and McDavid is the next best thing.

Nice sales pitch on Schmidt but the Hawks obviously decline. Hawks aren't adding a $6m 7th D for a late round pick swap. Add at least a 2nd to that 5th if Jets want Chicago to even consider it. And the Hawks have ample veteran leadership in their room already.

Ehlers for Pulock is a good a start but I don't think holmstrom would be on the move. Would WPG want a guy like Wahlstrom? His time in NY is probably done, if not isles could add a mid rd pick and still do it

We would definitely be interested in Wahl, just added Holm because I knew about him being scratched

More so about a young player just hitting a wall from playing a career high in games. Organisation likes him and will be in their plans. Wally is the one they will look to move.

i dont think sabres fans actually want iafallo, just feels like an inevitability.

You're missing some key info though. The Sabres owner absolutely loves Girgensons. His signing rights aren't going the other way.

Most AGM’s of buffalo don’t have him resigning, and the jets should definitely be looking into a guy like him for the bottom-6

They are wrong. There's a reason a 4th liner has survived the playoff drought for this long.
