Trades
LAK
  1. Jarry, Tristan
  2. Smith, Reilly ($1,500,000 retained)
  3. 2025 5th round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
LAK get a goalie that they can get a 1B behind and even his games played. Smith is Arvidson replacement and LAK let Turcotte and Thomas play full time.
PIT
  1. Dubois, Pierre-Luc
  2. Kaliyev, Arthur [RFA Rights]
  3. 2025 3rd round pick (LAK)
Additional Details:
I keep seeing posts either buying PLD out or trading him with retention. If LAK really want to move on from him, PIT should be all over it. Let's be honest, Malkin is done in two years. Crosby is probably extending another three to four years. PLD behind Sid is a solid 2C option. If it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out. PIT is going to suck regardless anyway when 87 retires. Take the chance because it might be a home run.

I have PIT getting the higher pick due to PLD term but the picks can be switched.

I think most of the Dubois ACGMs on here are pure delusion. I do agree that if Blake moves him, it needs to be re-cooping largely what value was traded to acquire him. Otherwise Blake probably does get terminated so he'll keep Dubois and hope for an improvement over that happening. Especially given the Kings haven't accomplished anything meaningful this year despite a solid overall season.

1. Recouping the value of the original trade might be more delusional than the deal posted in this AGM

2. I view Jarry as a negative contract, so I wouldn’t do this deal.

3. LA fans might want to consider that keeping DuBois is just as likely to get Robitaille/Blake fired as trading him. Cutting him probably increases that likelihood. This isn’t the deal, but if you could trade him for a name that could be viewed positively; I could see it improving their job security.

Reality is that we fans speak matter of factly on topics when in reality we all speculate. Plenty of deals will happen that if posted on here would get massive ridicule. Karlsson to PIT is one that I know for a fact anything like that on here got rejected as delusional immediately. Fans also greatly ignore the financial reality of ownership being the final decision maker.

It’s pretty easy to say that 90% of the deals in cap friendly never get considered much less happen. smile

new leadership will deal with PLD once old leadership is fired.

Truth is LA should buy him out. But that won't happen then his buyout becomes a disaster which will make that even less likely.
Either way what you have here is a failure to GM properly and then being stuck with hopes and dreams.
PLD never played to the level of that contract. EVER. He should have never been given it.
