Columbus has been the best fit for a while now. They are still negotiating with Anderson, and probably stalling that to put pressure on Sakic in a Duchene trade. Duchene can't be on the Avs to start the season, it simply cannot happen.

well unfortunately, it will probably happen, like it or not. 'it' meaning Duchene being on the Avs to start the season. If Columbus wants Duchene, Sakic will ask for Werenski+

I think that we should prepare for a "hard reset" for v1.

With the anticipation that most GMs in v2 are also going to have to hand off their teams to their AGM in v1, I think that we should consider implementing a new game with the same rules as v2 (minus BOE) to get more attention from notable Arm-Chair groupies and teach them the ropes of the game.

While I did not support this idea in the past, I didn't account for more GMs to want to leave v1 because of time commitment to v2. I think that we should make the new v1 game, an "AHL" system for these newcomers and some BOE memebers, AGMs in v2, etc.

Don't be weary, as this GM Game, per the last emails a had with Banks, can/will be archived and locked.

Please also note, that this idea is 100% contingent on v2 running smoothly. Come October 1, we should be able to get a better grasp on how it should shake out, but I would still want to go into the idea of a hard restart ready to hit the ground running.

I will also be able to publish a list of Arm-Chair groupies that would be perfect for coming to a game and community like this

I think I've said this enough before, but I'm on board as long as we can set opening day rosters and then archive the teams.
Anything less would just feel incomplete to me. Opening day roster for the new season after all of the time spent on off-season work, seems like an appropriate finish line.

Fair warning. Once we have implemented a reset, I would be stepping down from the BOG.
Hopefully we have put in enough groundwork for a new group to take the reins, and maybe they can even improve on things and bring some fresh ideas.

A clean slate would bring a new group of players. I'd probably still be interested in being a GM, but only if there weren't enough GM's.

But at the same time if some people would like to stay in V1 they are more than welcome to I would assume. Im fine with leaving as well but it dossnt matter to me.

Yes, people in v1 can stay; however, if you have a AGM in v2, you should allow the AGM to occupy a role in the hard restart.

No; in the sense that we will have two GM Games running side by side.

After coming to the realization that I had under-anticipated activity in v1 from GMs in v2, and v1 is going to fizzle out naturally soon enough. I think that we should achieve and lock this v1, the BETA version of the GM Game in perpetuity if we decide that we are better off by having a hard restart under my proposed conditions.

1.) GMs who wish to stay in v1 can, however, I would propose that the BOE members in v2 get first crack at team preference since they would be getting "firsts" before someone got "seconds", much like the dinner table, if you follow that sort of thing.

2.) Current GMs in v1, after the BOE in v2, can get second crack at selection, however, it is strongly advised, at least from my perspective, that you either allow your AGM in v2 to take your selection for you or we open it up to the public (I have a list of potential names who I think would add value to the GM Game)

3.) We keep the same rules in the "restarted v1" as we have in v2, minus the BOE. We can have a BOG or whatever, but the main purpose of the restart, from my opinion, is to attract new members for the community. That being said, we need more than a handful of GMs being proactive in finding AGMs and potential GMs when the time comes.

This restart is solely contingent on v2 running smoothy after the first 2 or so weeks. Otherwise, we can always modify and recess into the v1 BETA for the time being.
