fire sakic

Team: 2017-18 Colorado Avalanche
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 25, 2017
Published: Jul. 25, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
the avs got 48 points last year. Why the f*** is the team basically the same? sakic should have made some big changes this offseason, but he is too scared to pull the trigger on a trade or signing.
The avs should be signing players like jagr/vanek then flipping them at the deadline for picks, then have a strong draft next season, then climb out of the bottom of the standings.

rate and let me know if you think any of the trades are lopsided and how you would make them more fair.

yes shane doan should sign with the only team worse then the one he was on last year, retirement sounds much better then that.

oops i meant to sign him then flip him at the deadline for picks but i forgot. it would be similar to the jagr or vanek deals though and he would go to a strong playoff team

I can only imagine how last season must've felt as an Avs fan, no question it can't get any worse. Since it can only go up from here, I personally can see improvement in this team already. Given last season's horror, I believe Col could be the most improved despite not making a ton of additions. Subtractions had to happen first, and they got rid of 10 players so far! I agree there's still a lot of work to be done for this team to be a contender again, and I may be in the minority but I believe this team will be significantly better this season. Not saying playoffs, but I don't believe they'll have the basement key again....Time will tell though....

I like your attitude, and I think exactly the same - Avs should've done great changes into their roster. I get the idea, but...

These trades are quite one-sided, they are not good value-wise. For starters:
- Hanifin is in my opinion one of the most promising young d's in the whole league, so I think that he is even more valuable than Duchene is, but considering that CAR has so much young and promising d-men in their roster, I think they would go straight for Hanifin to Duchene
- PIT trade is probably the best one here, value-wise. But the thing is that Landeskog is not what Penguins are looking for.
- TB and DAL trade has the same problem, considering how bad COL was last season, there is an undeniable chance that these two FA's, Jagr and Vanek, could very well flop in level severely in that team, making the trades hard to believe. Besides, there's no guarantee that these two would help DAL or TB at all whatsoever, since we cannot know for sure if they make other changes to their roster during the season.
- PHI trade is worst value-wise. Konecny and Hagg are quite promising, and together they are much more valuable than Barrie. Sure, Barrie would be a great strengthening to any team, but not with that kind of price.
