Alex Holtz has flaws. His defensive game still needs some polish, and he really needs to be more careful with the puck, as there are some bad turnovers at times.

He is never going to be a play driving guy.

But he is fantastic at getting open for shots in the ozone, and he is an incredible shooter.

The offensive tools are already there to be a 35 goal scorer literally next year if you stick him into a role in the top 6 and PP1.

Now, whether his defensive and puck position game will follow to an acceptable level is the question that determines whether he’s Mike Hoffman or Tyler Toffoli

The open challenge is Boston is a team that depends on forechecking and defensively responsible forwards. They have a player with a similar profile in Lysell and Lysell showed he’s willing to play a team game. My assumption is Holtz will have more potential than a late 1st. Just wondering if he makes sense. Personally think he’s worth a flyer, but I do acknowledge the flaws and talent are both present

I don’t see why Vegas trades Karlsson and why Boston isn’t just signing Lindholm OR Stephenson. At the beginning of the year, all I heard from most fans was praying that Lindholm would make it to free agency.

Yeah I’m not sure if Holtz would make sense. I think the best spot for him is a team that can afford to give him a chance in the top 6 while he’s figuring stuff out.

Washington imo would be the best fit for Holtz. Learning from Ovi, should be spots in the top 6 opening up. They’ll need a guy to provide a jolt to their PP probably.

Pittsburgh or SJS would also make sense in my eyes
