I'm thinking Ferland gets an extended look on that top line, as he's certainly earned it. D pairings are bang-on. I'd prefer to see Ferland with Monahan and Gaudreau. Keeping the 3M line together is a no-brainer. Id like Bennett with Versteeg and either Foo or Jankowski on the 3rd, with Brouwer on the 4th line where he won't hurt Bennett's production. Stajan would center the 4th line, with Lazar acting as the swing guy,

Gaudreau - Monahan - Ferland
Tkachuk - Backlund - Frolik
Versteeg - Bennett - Foo
Jankowski - Stajan - Brouwer

I agree with Caletti12 on what the lines will probably end up as but...

Splitting up certain groups could produce an increase in offence. For example - Snipers need a set up guy - Putting JH with Mony (best sniper on the team) and Ferland (turning out to be a sniper) actually reduces their combined offence as JH setups are now divided between the 2 snipers... This was evident last year (end) when Ferlands numbers spiked and Monys dropped as he was going to the net or corner...

An additional issue is JH and his size - during the regular season he adapts BUT during the playoffs his production plummets. In the 2 series vs the Ducks he was shut down - almost all his playoff production came in the Vancouver Series! This will continue to be an issue - especially during the playoffs until JH is protected/sheltered. A suggestion would be to promote Calgary's second best set up guy - had the 2nd highest assists (for a forward) last year - and it was his rookie season - he should only get better - yes this involves spliting up 2 great combos (3 M line and JH + Mony) but it could lead to the 3 line killer offence that will be needed to win a Stanley Cup!

Thachuk + Mony + Foo/Brouwer/Lazar
JH + Bennett + Ferland
Versteeg/Jankowski/Poirier + Backlund + Frolik
Versteeg/Jankowski/Poirier + Stajan + Foo/Brouwer/Lazar
Hamilton + Brouwer/Lazar

Now lets apply the same logic to the d-men... Gio and Hamilton both have roughly the same shooting % but when paired (although a phenomenal combination) they limit each others goal scoring total based on 1 d pair will only get so many shots/opportunities! Splitting them up (as long as you can maintain the defensive effectiveness of the pairings) could lead to more goals scored due to the increased number of shots per player. This will also mean that any time either of the top 2 pairings are out there is a serious shooter on the blue line! This potentially will increase forward chances as well!

TJ + Hamilton
Gio + Hamonic/Stone
Kulak + Hamonic/Stone
