A "prove to me actually how much you are worth contract". It's not bad, not great. If he has a break out year then the Bruins are going to break out a small wallet. If he doesn't another small deal wouldn't hurt.

Yup good signing. I hate going to arbitration because someone loses. In this case Spoons thought he was worth more and was told he is not by someone other than the team. Does this actually demoralize a player??
My hope is he comes in to the year saying "I'm going to prove everyone wrong"

I can't think of in the history of Arbitration Hearings, a player who doesn't go in high

Of course, that's exactly what I'm saying!!! You probably just misunderstood me. Spooner and his team use examples to show why in their minds, Spoons is worth what they're fighting for. And sometimes the player/agent going in "high" as you say, win the case!! That's when the team loses, especially a team tight to the cap which Boston will be once Pasta is signed.

The other side is if the arbiter actually sides more on the team, that's where a player can get disgruntled. And I'm hoping he is not and will come out in his mind with a "I'll prove you wrong" attitude.
