Flip the picks on Trouba deal and I probably still say no thanks (unless you have Murphy shipped out in a subsequent move). Trouba is not a piece a rebuilding Hawks needs (with Jones and MUrphy here) or should take on without a sweetner to do it.

Not enough for Lee (he has 2 years @ 7 and just put up 37 points and is mid 30's). Take out Raddysh (who I don't love but not going to give away) and add one of Holmstrom or Wahlstrom. Moving up 2 spots has a value of a late 3rd and a 2nd likely to be later third of the round in 2 drafts is not getting that contract moved. I might even ask for a touch of retention....like a million per.

Dude added $18.5M in cap and Hawks are STILL over $10M in space. lol

I do expect Davidson to try to make some draft day moves a la Mrazek deal. There are some teams in the 10-16 range who I think are OK moving down a few spots.

I think were at the point in the rebuild where you can give up one of our million 2nds if it means you find a really good partner and mentor for KK for the next few years. Maybe you can get Trouba for a little cheaper but ultimately youre buying low on a pretty good dman because of the cap hit, which is of no consequence the hawks in the short term. For Lee I dont think he's going to cost a haul to dump. His contract/production is pretty similar to taylor halls. If you get paid a 2nd and move from 20 to 18 thats not bad for a guaranteed 20 goal scorer with size, even if hes overpaid. Neither Lee or Trouba will prevent Chicago from making a big move next summer or hurt our ability to keep our young players. As far as the young guys being moved out theyre likely not going to be qualified anyway

Another team I have my eye on is NJD. No 2nd round pick this year. Maybe you cant tempt them swap 10 for 20+a 2nd or two, kind of like that connor geekie deal a few years ago

I posed that exact trade. #10 for #20 + #34 and NJD fans universally said no. I think in reality this isn't a great draft and after the first roughly 8 players, the difference between 10 and 20 is probably equal and then on top of it you get a 34th pick which will likely be a guy ranked in the 20s that has been overlooked.

Yeah I think youd have to offer 20+34+54. The Geekie trade was 27 and two 2nds for 11. The thing with draft pick trades is of course fans want to keep their higher pick, but its entirely dependent on how each team views the draft class. If NJD for example doesnt like the top of this class, the cost of swapping from 10 to 20 is pretty cut and dry. its just about finding that team on draft day.
