Trades
1.
TOR
  1. Fabbro, Dante
  2. Glass, Cody
  3. Saros, Juuse
  4. 2024 2nd round pick (NSH)
Additional Details:
Leafs get an established goalie in Saros, a Perfect 3rd line center in Cody Glass, and a solid top 4 d in Fabbro. Can even do this trade without the picks as well.
NSH
  1. Marner, Mitchell
  2. 2026 5th round pick (TOR)
Additional Details:
Marner waives his NTC and I believe that Nashville will be on the list of teams he wants to go to. In this case, Nashville gets a first-line winger, with an extension in place.
2.
TOR
  1. 2024 4th round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
Could be a 3rd or 4th.
PIT
  1. Kämpf, David
Additional Details:
Dubas gets a former player that I believe Pittsburgh needs. Dubas loves his former players.
3.
TOR
  1. 2024 5th round pick (CHI)
Additional Details:
Could be a 4th-6th round pick
SJS
  1. Timmins, Conor
Additional Details:
San Jose gets an Offensive D man who can play on the powerplay.
4.
TOR
  1. 2024 2nd round pick (ARI)
  2. 2024 4th round pick (ARI)
Additional Details:
4th for jarnkrok
2nd or 3rd for Robertson
ARI
  1. Järnkrok, Calle
  2. Robertson, Nicholas
Additional Details:
Robertson signs a new deal and is traded, he is able to get a fresh start in an Arizona team with a gap in the top 9. Jarnkrok goes as well for added forward depth.
5.
TOR
  1. 2025 2nd round pick (WSH)
WSH
  1. Liljegren, Timothy
Additional Details:
Added insurance on the back line for Washington as Liljegren is an established d man who can play in the top 4.
6.
TOR
  1. 2024 6th round pick (CHI)
Additional Details:
Could even be a 7th as well, more of a salary dump trade. Someone to protect bedsy as well.
CHI
  1. Reaves, Ryan
Additional Details:
Making this deal to get Maroon in Free agency. Reaves cap hit is just too high and his production isn't there. Although he does play physically, a 1.3 million cap hit is just too much.

If this was any other team but the Leafs, I wouldn't do the Robertson and Liljegren trades just because they have shown a ton of growth, but I get that this is the time so I could see it.

The Pens don't need Kampf, actually. His cap hit and term are both high for a defensive 4th liner, and the Pens need offense in their bottom 6, not another low-event veteran. We're better off with Poulin or Ponomarev having a full time NHL spot next year.

If Utah trades you one of their three seconds for Nick Robertson, it won't be the #38 one.

If NSH has the option to not include the picks, then NSH isn't going to include them. If the picks are unnecessary for the deal, why would NSH trade a 2nd in the upcoming draft for a 5th in 2 years? I'm not sure where the difference in value is coming from, as it sounds like you have logic for how Fabbro + Glass + Saros is a trade for Marner.

Thats true I just thought he would fit perfectly on that 4th line after Jeff Carter leaving, but you bring up a very fair point with the younger guys incoming.

True, would end up being a later 2nd or early 3rd most likely.

I think without the picks the deal is fair... People are starting to undervalue Marner and forget about the potential he has as a player.

Fair point, Robertson is a future 20+ goalscorer and Liljegren is already able to play top 4 minutes on any team. But I think at this time you just need to clean house and shift the cap.
